I plan on being near where the line will be several hours before, just in case we are allowed to line up earlier.
I guess I can just walk around in big circles until the start of the offical line up, so I'm not "loitering".

That's more or else what I was planning, but I hope a large group of us is spotted early so that security will just let us set up somewhere

Security will shoo you away. It's going to be a madhouse. I am sure people will try to form their own lines. What the bottom line is tho, no official line up allowed by MGM until 4pm

they can't stop anybody from hanging out back there tho. There's shops, restaurants, and some tv show thing, and the monorail entrance. If I was doing GA I'd be back there ready to get into their line. Sat. people will at least have an idea of how it goes from Fri.

I am flying down on Sunday and staying at the MGM Grand so I will let you guys know if I find out any info on the whole line up thing.

Is Macayo's still there on the walk? Maybe it's a diff. Mexican restaurant, but I remember the margaritas! I know I'll be ready after the show.
Oh, that sounds great! I'll have to look it up.
I'm not down with spending $50 on an after-party, to me, that's just steep. Carek was saying something about that in the Nov. 4th thread, but I don't want to be shoulder to shoulder in an after party. She said it was sold out, anyway.

I'm a drink and chat kind of girl, not a drink and grope-me-because-we're-in-this-mega-packed-bar kind of woman. :)

I'm tempted to just go hang out in the MGM lobby until I see some people holding an interference sign!!! Maybe I'll hold one, too! ;)

Just a shameless plug that if anyone's friend flakes out at the last minute and you end up with an extra Vegas II GA you should keep me in mind! :D

I got long legs and can get to the floor pretty quick to save a spot for my parter in crime and I.

:hyper:

i believe the money goes to the african well fund.

plus, fifty dollars for an open bar is a GREAT deal in las vegas, where drinks at bars are at least ten bucks before tip.

would the boys go to "Pure" after at Caesar's Palace for their after party? Several groups/artists went there after their shows. Or on Sat. nite does U2 have to leave right away for the next venue?

Ha ha I just saw some 15 cent tkts for sale on Ebay, that's the auction starting price. Otherwise the GA's sure haven't gone down in price yet on there. Some of those people are going to be paying $600+ a tkt to stand at the very back of a big crowd.

yea the drinks there at the MGM and other hotels are expensive. There's a really great drink bar across from the food court as you walk into the arena back there, and it was like $15 with tip. Ricardo's the Mexican restaurant was torn out for the monorail, but there is another one now, a more upscale one, with a great margarita drink bar there right before the box office in front of the arena. Of course if you play the slot machines the ladies come by and give you free drinks.

Where can we see them going in for sound check? Will they be walking through the hotel or downstairs at the bottom by the escalators? Most artists have just walked through the hotel with their bodyguards when I have been there.

My bad! I didn't know very much about it - thanks for keying me in. That is a good deal. And contributing to a good cause is always.....good. I'll have to look into it further.

I wonder if it's sold out yet...does anyone have a link? Thanks!

now don't be scaring the visitors bg...
it is possible to get a "reasonably" priced drink in our liittle town...

you gotta know where to look.

hush, you.

you still owe me for that post you made.

and for that incident in the stacks the other day.

divegirl, i don't know if it's sold out. i hope it's not. i'd like to think i could get in at the door if i wanted to, but we'll see. the problem is none of my friends know quite where they want to go that weekend, so i haven't paid up yet either. i would, however, gladly pay at the door if i can.

oh yeah, and the visitors should be afraid. very afraid...:macdevil:

:macdevil:  Like, if you smoke...don't run out inside a casino. What's it up to these days? $6.75-$7.00 a pack?

And always question them when they say it's within walking distance. This time of year isn't bad, but beware in the summer!

I actually do, too. The last few years my body doesn't tolerate cold well. Now, like clockwork several days before Halloween...it's nippy out.

the allegations are false. fabricated to drag my name through the mud and tarnish my otherwise impeccable reputation

anything heard was taken out of context...
damn him for his timing....
as for the other, i'll buy you a mai tai...or three

i repeat, fine guests...
there is nothing to fear, but fear itself...
(however, you may want to leave some room on the visa...)

No I did not say the parties at McMullans were sold out, I don't know if you can still buy advance tickets and I do not know if you can buy tickets at the door. At first I thought $50 was steep, but once you consider the average cover charge, cost of drinks and food.....with this party offering food and open bar plus money going to AWF, it's NOT a bad deal. Anywhere else in Vegas you will be paying for food, drinks, tips etc....I would recommend contacting McMullan's Pub directly or check for the party website to contact them to see if it is already full. It won't be shoulder to shoulder.....it's a big place and there are going to be 2 bands in 2 rooms for entertainment, plus the place is open 24/7.

I aw the thread earlier today, still room for reservations and $65.00 at the door...

.....BARTENDER!

Alcooliques.gif

i get it, keep it simple...

too many ingredients confuse the bartenders...

"bartender, make it a tequila....
and put it in a dirty glass."
Dash Riprock

mmm, cabo...
