Oh man... Chicago 4

The most amazing show I have ever seen...it completely blew every other Chicago show out of the water...I haven't figured out why, but I'm sure it had to do with the set, the audience, and the energy and love for the music shown by the band...

I really hope somebody recorded it...

I read somewhere that there are tapers, but they are far away from home and can't transfer over until they get back...

So I'm sure we'll get a copy of the audio, and eventually...video!

This one wasn't videotaped, I looked around, and all the cameras were gone.

Too bad.

Since Original of the Species was played mid-set, was it played any differently than previous shows?

I thought it was much better than Monday's show. The crowd had more energy and I got to hear the two songs I prayed to hear - Gloria and UTEOTW
The opening was fantastic - Vertigo, ABOY, Elevation, Gloria - great energy. They sounded excellent.
Did anyone notice me freaking out in GA when the first notes of Gloria were played? No one around me was excited Get those people a copy of the UABRS video (or at least the CD or October)!!!!!!
I would have preferred a more exciting performance of The Fly and a more emotional WOWY, but overall the show kicked a**.

UTEOTW had to be played at one point. The band must love that song too.

I felt the band (with the exception of Bono) had much less energy than during the other 3 shows. It seemed like they were coasting more than days previous.

its been well documented that edge hasnt got the freedom to move around due to being "plugged in" and not wireless, maybe due to some malfuntions in his kit?, also how can you say adam and larry arent energetic? when was the last time you seen larry have to run back to his kit just so he can start the next song?, and adam hasnt moved this much in years

I thought they all seemed very fired up and energetic, especially considering it has been a long week for everybody with Bono's b-day, etc. Bono in particular amazed me. He stopped briefly before soundcheck to interact with fans and apologized he couldn't spend more time, that he didn't feel good and had a sore throat. Even so, he absolutely held nothing back. The whole show I just kept having these waves of gratefulness rolling over me that he would push himself so hard for the fans even when not feeling 100%.

Knox, I have to agree with you. My friend and I attended 3 shows this week (we didn't do Saturday's show) and we both left saying that was the best show of the entire week. We can't explain why either, but it just seemed like they were having fun!

It's too bad this show wasn't taped for the DVD. IT WAS FREAKING AMAZING!

Because I was at all 4 shows and they seemed much less interested in what they were doing.

Well sports fans, I was here for all four shows and I too felt like Bono last night tired, with a sore throat after 3 nights of giving it my all in the GA line, getting front row in front of Edge and Bono on the 9th, the first night of taping, and rails outside the eclipse the other nights.

Saturday was a good show, but Monday and Tuesday were definitely the best shows.

Last night was good, I really enjoyed it but I did notice an energy level difference, fans seemed less enthused than previous nights.

I think if you are in the ellipse, it's much different than if your further back in the stadium.

I had a reserved seat last night, but walked right past the security and onto the floor. I managed to get 8 deep behind the rail outside the ellipse, and noticed a big difference in fan behavior from those not on the rail or in the ellipse.

I felt the performance was good, but there were a few musical mishaps, and I noticed there were several technical gliches with the automation and the screens.

Bono did have a sore throat and a lady from principal managment told us wed. night that his back has been bothering him, so I think he took it easy last night, and I can't blame him.

I'm as tired as he is..lol it's been a long, but glorious week.

Was it the best show of the week, no, Monday and tuesday were, but last night was good, and I enjoyed hearing a slightly different set.

The show is what the crowd makes of it and I felt that the fans as a whole were flat last night.

I think all the casual fans got last night tickets because the true fans already had the 7th, and 9th tickets.

I still enjoyed it, but my hopes and prayers are that I will be blessed and that the footage from monday will be all on the DVD, and that you will be seeing, me, Tim, Brad, Roman, Jennifer, Rod, Julianne, Rebekah and all the other cool people I met this week on the DVD every time you watch it..lol

I am truly amazed at Bono as well. It doesn't help that the boys partied EVERY freaking night, after every concert, in the hotel! They stayed in my hotel while in Chicago so I saw Bono every night after the concert. Sunday night (Mother's Day) was the only night I saw Bono call it quits at around 9:30pm. He was walking like he was in pain, yet to see all his energy onstage the next night (Monday) was an incredible feat. Then, they partied in the hotel after that concert. Only to get up and do it again on Tuesday night. TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW! Bono's birthday party, back at the hotel, went on until 5:30am Wednesday morning.

Last night was ANOTHER late night. Incredibly, Bono actually beat me back to the hotel from the United Center. What did he have a police escort or something? heheheh...

They had an after party of about 150 people in the hotel's restaurant. I think those people are still partying.

Yeah, I figured that they'd all had late nights especially because of the b-day...
