Flew from sydney to adelaide last night and met Larry's sound technician - talked for him for half an hour on the tour, band, new album. He flew business class and was heading to AAMI stadium (adelaide) when the plane landed (1130pm) to do some setting up of equipment. He's worked for the band for 20 years and has a pretty cool job (lives under the stage every show). He mentioned that the new album hasn’t begun recording and it's easily 12 months away.

That's Sam--he's such a nice guy, and very nice to fans. I think there's lots of footage of him in the Live Aid DVD.

Nice story  Enjoy the shows!

Sweet!

Sam is a great guy - he gave me a set of Larry's sticks!

Yeah, he seems real nice! He came all the way to the back of the floor in Detroit to bring eep Larry's sticks.

He also read my sign and gave me a smile (my friend's said "Super fan since 1984..." and mine said "...Born in 1984, Still a Superfan!")

is he the guy you see on Live Aid talking to Larry at the start of Bad, then seen in the background with the mustache on Live 8?
