I am guessing it will be a lot of security telling us to go away and get off the sidealk because a=we are scaring the tourists, and a lot of us hiding and then coming back

Well we could have the line start off the strip on the other side of the building. Then in the middle of the night go to the Tropicana and get a good cheap buffet breakfast.

Just as long as it's nice and close to the building and nowhere near the street. Tragedy struck yesterday in front of Bally's. Some asshole upset about his day in drug court intentionally plowed into 15 tourists walking on the sidewalk. One dead and 5 wounded critically.
Let's see how he likes his next day in court.

OMG that's horrid news. MGM is apparently having GA line up in some adjacent area to the arena indoors and rumor is they will be giving out wristbands and GA peeps come back at 5, doors open at 6:30, show begins at 8. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for this to be confirmed.

I think I know where they'll have everyone line up. Wonder what time they'll hand out wristbands..my friend has to work but if it's early enough she'll be able to come down and get her wristband. Man, 6:30 until U2 comes on around, what? 9:30ish. That's a long time to stand. Doing both nights..I'm up for it but I worry about the people coming with me

Thanks for the info, Carek. Will be waiting with anticipation for more news! What is it, 39 days away now? :hyper:

Am I correct that they stayed at the Hard Rock last time or am I just thinking of the pre-party? Can't remember if they just came in from LA or not.

Perhaps they will check out the Wynn while in town?

Does anyone know where this McMullan's Pub is? (There's a fan party there Fri and Sat) On or off strip? Anyone going to it?

McMullan's Pub is on Tropicana, about 3 miles or so from the MGM. I'm going to the parties with friends. There is a site somewhere about the party, they are selling tickets pre-party, not sure about tickets being sold at the door. There's also an Interference party 11/3 8-10pm at HRC (not the hotel)

THanks! I think I'm going to McMullan's Friday at the very least. I fly in Friday AM so can't make the Interference Party

Awesome! I'm part of the band's "family" so I'll be hanging around the stage.....come by and say hello! They call me Kren and I'll be there with all my friends.

Since there is no policy Rules are for MGM is if you are there stay for the long hold. They can't stop us since we could claim we are waiting for something else.

That was my experience with both Pearl Jam shows at the Borgata this past weekend, since Borgata is co-owned by MGM .

That's some really good information. Thanks!

I called the MGM Grand to ask about my sister being on crutches and if they allowed them in the GA Floor area and the girl I spoke with obviously had no CLUE about GA or U2 fans. She said it was ok to bring in crutches and that they could be "leaned against a chair". I then reminded her we have GA tickets, no chairs, ON THE FLOOR to which she responded "Oh I know". DOH! Then I asked if there was any policy on how the GA line up will be set up, wristband procedure etc. and she put me on hold for a long time then came back to say "I'm sorry but we're not able to release this information yet". Oh well, I tried.

It seems that the MGM, and other LV merchants, would greatly benefit from a GA policy that issues numbered wrist bands and then allows fans to leave and return at a pre-set time (like San Jose and Boston).

Wouldn't they want all of us to spend freely in the casinos and restaurants rather than sitting/standing in line all day (on the other hand my wallet would be better off if I was stuck in line and didn't have easy access to a craps table or slot machine  )?

You've got a great point. I called the MGM Grand Gardens with a couple questions and the girl I spoke with had no clue nor could she get me any information or answers to my questions.

I talked a few weeks ago with an MGM security guy who says they are planning to do wristbands - though he is not sure what time they will start handing them out. So basically you can go gamble and not have to wait in line all day :)

I called the MGM Grand Garden to ask if they had any regulations against crutches on the GA Floor area. My sister broke her foot and will be on crutches for 2 months and I wanted to make sure there will be no problems while we are in Vegas. The girl I spoke with was not helpful at all. I am considering renting a wheelchair for my sister while we are there and asked if there is a sequestered handicapped area on the GA Floor area and she couldn't answer that either. So I will rely on your security guard friend for info. I sure hope they go with the wristband and come back to your place in line plan or not let people line up till 4pm which is another rumor I'd heard.
