have U2 ever toured Asia?

i was going through some of their old tours and it doesn't seem like they go to any asian countries (besides Japan)

I was just hoping they'd do some Aisan dates like Hong Kong and Singapore and Manila or something, because well i'm a jealous Australian who wants to maximise her U2 tour chances and the us is just to far away.....

well i just hope they do Australia and New Zealand, i'm keeping everything crossed for New Zealand. And if they do Japan, thats only an 8 hour flight away....i'm there.

God i wish i lived in the USA. I swear you could go to like 30 concerts in you lived in the north eastern area *jealous*

well, i'd be happy just to go to one (she says lying through her teeth)

Japan is the only country in Asia that U2 have played in.

They were originally going to play countries in Southeast Asia on the Popmart tour in 1998, but these did not happen. In the 1997 Popmart tour program, it listed the 1997 dates and listed places they were intending to play in 1998. Southeast Asia, New Zealand and Hawaii were amongst the places listed but they did not end up happening.
