oops just noticed this had been posted on the news page...

looks like they are announcing ticket outlets a week before on sale dates...

Here is the email from U2.com Concerning the Presale

As you know, U2 are taking the Vertigo Tour into 2006 and dates have already been announced for Australia and New Zealand. Further dates in Mexico, South America and Japan will be announced soon.

Earlier in the year we sent you a unique code to take part in one of the presales for the U2 shows this year. As that code hasn't been used, we can now offer you the chance to buy up to 4 tickets in the presale this coming week (beginning Tuesday 29th November) for shows in New Zealand and Australia.

This presale is for tickets to the shows in Australia and New Zealand only. If you don't use your code then, you will be able to use it for later shows. We will be offering presales for shows in February/March 06 in Mexico, South America and Japan. Details will be sent out as soon as they are finalized.

When you log in to the U2.Com Subscription site, you will also find this unique presale ticketing code in the RED SUBSCRIBERS BOX.

You will need this code to take part in the presale.

The presale beginning on Tuesday noon (12PM Melbourne/Sydney Time Zone), is open for 48 hours and is for the following shows only:
Friday March 17th , New Zealand - Auckland, Ericcson Stadium
Tuesday March 21, Australia - Brisbane, Queensland Sports & Athletics Centre
Friday March 24 Australia - Melbourne, Telstra Dome
Tuesday March 28 Australia - Adelaide, AAMI Stadium
Friday March 31 Australia - Sydney, Telstra Stadium

You cannot use your code to make your advance ticketing purchase until the presale begins .

Best wishes and see you on the road !
The U2.Com Team

(Take care of this email - and don't let anyone else have access to it who might use it instead of you!)

Could anyone please buy me a concert ticket and an airline ticket to Australia?

Thanks. You guys rock

Looks like the fourth pre-sale has effectively eliminated the scalping of fan club tickets. Anyone notice that tickets MUST be picked up the day/night of the show! I hope this doesn't screw with the GA people who will be lining up early without tickets though.

5. How will I receive my tickets ?

Tickets will NOT be delivered. They must be picked up at the box office on the night of the show. To pick up your tickets you will need to show the credit card you use for your purchase, a print-out of your sales confirmation and some photo-id in order to avoid fraud and scalping.(Details of appropriate photo-id will be explained in the sales confirmation email you receive from the ticket provider.)

Yeah, this anti scalping thing is great, but does any one know how its gonna work for GA tickets- how will you stay in the queue? Does anyone know how the GA thing will work for stadium gigs in australia- does the previous information on u2 .com about north american GA's apply or is it a free for all 1 big ugly queue and how will we pick up those tickets if we queue up overnight to get into the ellipses

Now I have a presale code and no way to get down under. :grumpy: But Mexico is a little more feasible... :hmm:

i'll be in mexico for the feb. 12th show (my birthday!) so if you decide to use your presale code for that show and buy any extra GAs I'd be happy to buy them from you!

I need some suggestions from other Sydneysiders. Haven't bought tickets down here before, only in the states, and don't know how I should go about doing it. For some reason my pre-sale stuff hasn't come through from U2.com. So I will have to get my tickets next monday with every other pleb in the world. Do you think lining up is the best policy? Because I am going to see James Zabilla and Sasha on the Saturday and will be up till at least 6 am. Then I will probably have to line up at 5am to get the tickets at 9 am and go to work on Monday. But i mean if that's what I have to do to get floor tiockets I will do it. But I mean is online a gamble? Suggestions please.

It's too bad Mexico is a week before my winter break... Brazil is perfect in the middle of it but I don't know how hard it would be to get flights down there. Mexico would be perfect.. and who needs to do stuff senior year anyway?

How is Monterrey? Is it relatively safe? Trying to think of how to convince my mother a trip to Mexico would be the perfect gift for my 18th birthday... :hmm:

From past ticket chasing moments i've found the best way is to get high speed internet, a credit card and to stay home for the day or so before the sale as sometimes there are pre-sale specials for internet buyers.

Does anyone know if there will be GA for all shows?

Worst case is you can buy tix off Ebay over Xmas :) I think I will do that if I don't get good enough seats on the day of release.

Does anyone have a presale code they're not going to use - I'm flying from England for 2 weeks for the gig and to see an old mate - I'm terrified I won't get tickets and have used my presale colde already for the US.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is a genuine genuine plea!

I'll buy you a stubby or several in Sydney!!!

:help:
