I think the new version was interresting, not for being better but for being different, but it isn't worth playing it that way for the whole of the Vertigo tour!

Turn it back into a rocker or drop it!!!!!

Good call. If it appears on the 3rd leg in its same form especially at venues that got multiple shows on the 1st leg I won't be surprised at all but a bit disappointed.
 
I believe the current arrangement is very purposeful... that although it starts angry as always, it quickly grows tired and frayed. Edge's playing has a disillusioned, shell-shocked quality, as it slips into the ruminative, Johnny-Comes-Marching part.

So I think I get what they're doing, but I don't think it's having the impact they want. And it's hard not to compare it unfavorably with past versions.
