Your point may be valid if we were talking about, I don't know, October. But it seems some people here take more exception with a statement about Acrobat than about October.

I wouldnt be concerned with the fan reaction to Acrobat as much as the band's interest in playing it.
If they played it, they would only be playing it because of years of annoying fans telling them they need to play it. The song is 15 years old, and wasn't even played on ZooTV.
However, if the band were to sort of "rediscover" the song in rehearsals and actually wanted to play it, then I'm sure it would sound amazing, and I really think hearing "don't let the bastards grind you down" would be the ideal way to end a show with a bang.

The hardcore fans would probably all go very quiet after collectively passing out when we recognised it. The rest wouldn't know it, it seemed like very few people responded to either Zoo Station or The Fly at most of the shows I went to. If the casual fan doesn't know those ones then Acrobat would be totally lost.
