Hola Amigos

As far I know, it was almost 15 years since the last time U2 performed a concert featuring at least one song per album . That was in Rotterdam 09-01-1990 (Am I right Axver?)

Now the third leg is almost end, so any changes we could expect might come with the 4th leg .

Here´s my question to all of you my friends ;). Imagine that U2 want to perform a brand new setlist for the 4th leg including at least 1 song per album... what setlist they should perform in your opinion? (considering Stadiums !!! )

1 - City Of Blinding Lights
2 - Vertigo
3 - Mofo
4 - Gloria
5 - Even Better Than The Real Thing
6 - The Electric Co
7 - Beautiful Day
8 - New Year´s Day
9 - Love And Peace Or Else
10-Bad

11-Angel Of Harlem (acoustic)
12-Sometimes You Can´t Make It On Your Own (acoustic)

13-Dirty Day
14-Bullet The Blue Sky
15-Running To Stand Still
16-Where The Streets Have No Name
17-All I Want Is You (full strings ending)

encore 1

18-Discotheque
19-Mysterious Ways
20-Original Of The Species

encore 2

21-One Tree Hill
22-Acobat
23-With Or Without You
24-Yahweh

Such a terrific setlist including all most requested songs here, Mofo, Discotheque, Acrobat, Dirty Day and One Tree Hill !!!

Peace

You are correct: 9 January 1990 is the last time U2 performed a setlist featuring at least one song from every studio album released at that point in time. It is worth noting that the Vertigo 3rd leg is the first tour leg since the European leg of Lovetown to have a song from every album. Shame none of the sets combined all of them together.

Now, my set with songs from all the albums, though keeping to a Vertigo-ish format ...

1. Vertigo
2. The Electric Co.
3. Gloria
4. Beautiful Day
5. City Of Blinding Lights
6. Original Of The Species
7. All I Want Is You
8. The First Time
9. Bad
10. One Tree Hill
11. New Year's Day
12. Dirty Day
13. Love And Peace Or Else
14. Sunday Bloody Sunday
15. Please
16. Where The Streets Have No Name
17. Crumbs From Your Table

18. Mofo
19. Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me
20. The Fly

21. 11 O'clock Tick Tock
22. All Because Of You
23. Fast Cars
24. Gone

At the second Oakland show.....

Boy - I Will Follow
October - Gloria
War - Sunday Bloody Sunday
The Unforgettable Fire - Pride/Bad
Joshua Tree - Streets/WOWY/Still Haven't Found/BTTBS
Achtung Baby - One
Zooropa - The First Time
Passengers - Miss Sarajevo
ATYCLB - Beautiful Day/Elevation/Stuck
HTDAAB - The usual....and "Fast Cars"

If only they had snuck "Angel of Harlem" into the acoustic set... and "Discotheque" somewhere in the show...it's really unlikely that a future tour would have anything from Passengers, so this might've been their only shot to repeat that feat. Also, that was an amazing show and it only had a single track from AB.....just goes to show you........but yeah, interesting set focusing on everything but the two weakest albums.

It's not really practical in this era to expect a song from each album in a concert (unless it was a grand finale farewell concert)

By 1990 they had only released six studio albums (counting R & H given that there are plenty of original songs on it as well as the live stuff) so it was more feasible and likely.

Shouldn't be too hard...

If their current show carries over to the stadium shows, I think they'll actually do it. "All I Want Is You" is a great track for stadiums, so I have no doubt that it'll make it in along with the new "The First Time"........really, they just need the current set and throw in "Discotheque" and you've got a song from every album (including Passengers-OST 1).....
