I'll be honest. It would never work, even if I'm tempted to be a bit bitter about how moderators make their judgments. The fact is that people will take advantage of their unabated "freedom" to be insulting, pornographic, etc. here. I've seen some forums where less moderation works, but perhaps this one is just too damn big for that to work.

That's just my thoughts.

I go to a message board for another musician where free run was basically allowed. It sounds nice in theory, and everybody loved the freedom...until some people set out to make it TOO free. Flooding the board with sick pictures...horrendous insults...people were getting sick of going there because it was constant bullshit. Now we have light moderation, and it's all good.
