...it would be awfully nice to get credit in our post count for journal entries and/or replying in other people's journals.

it's a good idea, but i'm not sure if i want people commenting in my journal just so they can up their post count. i like people in my journal who really care what i'm writing in there. just my personal opinion.

Agreed. I don't want a lot of "yeah"'s in my journal just so someone can hit 5000, or whatever.
