Sunday June 1st 2008 on or around midnight EST the site will be down for database maintenance. We should only be down about an hour if all goes well.

Server updates

We're doing some server maintenance over the next few hours. You may experience difficulty loading attachments during this time and/or receive error messages when trying to attach pictures. Our apologies for the inconvenience - but hopefully this will be straightened out quickly.

Some of you may have noticed that the site has been lagging or timing out more than usual lately.

Just wanted to let everyone know that it should be fixed (and much faster) now.

The forums are now running on a load balanced setup with 3 web servers and a master/slave database setup, vs the 1 web server and 1 database server we had before.

Thank goodness. Now I can stop thinking "ZOMG WHAT HAPPENED????" when the site goes down.

I always think something really big in U2-land happened, and everyone flocked to the site at once.
