How do I post a smilie in my journal entry or when I'm replying in someone else's journal.

Well, you can type in the same code, since that one is identical to the codes used in the regular forum.
At least, that's how I do it.

What you can do to help you out is the next time you make a reply, click the link to Get More smilies, which will display them all. Somewhere in that window, right-click it and select the option to add it to your favorites. Then when you are making a journal entry, you can open another window and go to where you have the smilies list bookmarked.

i always type mine in. even when i reply in threads

Typing them in would be faster most of the time

if you don't know all the smilie codes, leave the smilie legend open for a while in a separate window till you get to know them all. that's what i did. it didn't take long till i knew what to type for all of them and it was just easier for me to start typing them in each time.
