How Do I take Shots of my Screen

I've seen a lot of people here posting screen caps of pc screens , and sometimes I've found myself doin it but without knowign what I was doing , so I would like to know how it's done

Hold down ctrl and then hit print screen. Then paste it into a document or something.

You don't have to hit Ctrl...just hit Print Scrn.

OK, I've worked out how to do a screenshot - but i can't work out how to do anything with it - like paste it into another program so I can upload it as a picture or anything.

Any help from you clever people out there would be very much appreciated

I use Paint. Just up a new file in paint, paste, and you're done.

You can use Power point too, Press Print Scrm (in my case Ipmr Pant PetSis) and paste the image on Power point, you can do some edits and then rigth click the image and save it as
