delete post?

is there a way to make the delete post feature active for maybe 5 - 10 minutes or so after making a post or reply?
as of right now if i'm not mistaken only mods can use this feature?

i.e. last night i posted a thread before realizing someone else had already posted a similar thread.
it was about 3am so i had to just edit the post and wait for a mod to delete it since no one's really around at that time.
also it might save the mods from extra work of having to delete when someone accidentally clicks on 'post' instead of 'reply' or accidentally double posts something in a thread.

Members are not allowed to delete their own posts and I dont think that is going to change.
Same deal as the editing of the posts time limit. Will gladly run it by Elvis though.

Sicy's on point, as usual, on this one. While I do see the usefullness of the ability to delete a post, I also see a great potential for abuse... and unfortunately it's been proven here that if a feature can be abused, it will be. Damn humans.
