...in the 'members' list a way to search for keywords, like say, all the members who live in Texas or Canada or Fargo or whatever?

Exactly. Though I've often thought about what Disco is suggesting.

Mayhaps there would be a way to have an actual location set in the profile and also have a miscellaneous location to appear with one's posts. I'm not sure if that is possible, but that would be the only way to make a search like that work.
