As some of you know my brother & his wife welcomed their baby into the world a little earlier than expected

Lilli-Anna Mitchell was born yesterday weighing 1lb 4 oz , she is currently in a specialist intensive care baby unit getting the best care available

I spoke to my brother and today she breathed on her own for a bit


I thought it best to have a thread so you can keep upto date on Lill-Anna's progress.

All you positive prayers & vibes would be appreciated

and did a little breathing on her own.

(and "fellow" preemie - I was 27 wks which back in the early-mid 50's was scary ?2lb 1oz and went down to 1lb or so. One of my aunts used to hold up a squab? or cornish hen at a few family gatherings - see that's how "big" I was when born. I used to get soooo embaressed!

Breath the sweet air, little one, and bit by bit grow stronger!

Hi Auntie Theresa, It's Lillianna here. I am now 3 days old and the nurses say i'm doing really well.Daddy got me a small Pooh bear today and i have just had some of my mummy's milk, it was yummy. Daddy tells me i must rest now and i can't wait to meet ya love Lilli xx

Poor thing, having to struggle like that right out the gate. I'm glad to hear she's improving, though, here's to a speedy full recovery so she can go home with her parents and begin her new life on Earth . Congrats to the family as well on the new addition .

A friend of mine's grand-nephew was born at 25 weeks, I think, and although he was in a humidi-crib for a long time, he was a fighter too and is fine now.
