What a Band! What a Day!

As if this weekend's amazing "Saturday Night Live" performance wasn't enough to excite hungry U2 fans for the upcoming tour - U2 took to the streets of Manhattan and Brooklyn today on the back of a flatbed truck to shoot the video for new single "All Because of You." The band were spotted on 5th Ave., Times Square and Columbia University before their late afternoon scheduled performance at the Empire Fulton Ferry State Park underneath the Brooklyn Bridge today. The band went on around 4:30pm and played until about 5:30pm.

According to Interference.com staff and members who were on the scene today, traffic was stopped on the Brooklyn Bridge, seven cameras were spotted filming and an additional 30-40 press cameras were in attendance next to the veritable sea of U2 fans who came from far and wide to see the first official U2 "concert" since the close of the Elevation Tour in late 2001.

During "Out of Control," reports indicate the crowd "went nuts" as expected for the beloved old tune.
