Nokia to Sponsor Virgin Radio's Online Music Chart Show
Mobile brand to feature in Sunday evening show
Nokia is sponsoring Virgin Radio's Online Music Chart Show, which is broadcast on Sunday evenings.
The mobile phone brand will feature in trails and competitions during the show, with the first major prize up for grabs being a VIP trip to see U2 in New York and a Nokia N70 handset.
The sponsorship begins on 28 August and will run for 12 months.
This deal is part of an ongoing relationship between Nokia and Virgin Radio that includes joint involvement in the annual Isle of Wight music festival and Visual Radio.
Richard Naish, business manager for music at Nokia, said: "The Virgin Online Chart Show is a great fit for Nokia given our existing range of music phones and people's desire to have the music they love with them at all times. Together, Virgin Radio and Nokia are helping people connect with their favourite music and downloading tracks is a key part of that."
Louise Reeves, head of sponsorship at Virgin Radio, said: "Our gadget-savvy audience loves the Online Music Chart show, which was the first of its kind when it went on air last year. The customised package we've developed for Nokia will communicate their brand messages to a receptive and important national audience that's mad for music downloads."
