I found the whole comment kind of odd and out of left field. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I was surprised he voiced it in such a public way for no apparent reason.

I like the RHCP but it always annoys me when celebs take a swipe at other people simply for the sake of trashing them. It seems so Paris Hilton-Lindsey Lohan-esque, or something. I'm not saying this because it's U2, I'd be equally annoyed if the comment had been made about any group. If you want to explain your philosophical difference regarding the place of music in the advertising world, by all means, do, but what's the point of calling someone an idiot?

I love the RHCP. I'll forgive Chad for these comments because he was a part of creating "Soul to Squeeze" and "Under the Bridge" (2 of my favorite songs ever) and Blood Sugar Sex Magik, one of my favorite albums.
