Exclusive: No U2 in Dear Frankie Trailer

Contrary to rumors circulating on several fan boards, there is not, according to the Miramax marketing department, a U2 song in the trailer for the upcoming release "Dear Frankie." Fans who had watched the trailer online thought the song sounded like U2.

According to the Internet Movie Database, the plot of the movie is:

Nine-year-old Frankie and his single mum Lizzie have been on the move ever since Frankie can remember, most recently arriving in a seaside Scottish town. Wanting to protect her deaf son from the truth that they've run away from his father, Lizzie has invented a story that he is away at sea on the HMS Accra. Every few weeks, Lizzie writes Frankie a make-believe letter from his father, telling of his adventures in exotic lands. As Frankie tracks the ship's progress around the globe, he discovers that it is due to dock in his hometown. With the real HMS Accra arriving in only a fortnight, Lizzie must choose between telling Frankie the truth or finding the perfect stranger to play Frankie's father for just one day.

"Dear Frankie" is currently in limited release.

Dear Frankie Trailer Pulled!

Miramax pulled the "Dear Frankie" trailer from the internet right after interference.com posted the article about a possible new U2 song appearing in the trailer. Coincidence or indication that it WAS a new U2 song?

We didn't post anything saying there was an U2 song in the trailer, the article posted was in response to different rumors on fan boards. As stated in the article, the Miramax marketing department said there was no U2 song in the trailer for "Dear Frankie." That the trailer is no longer available online is a coincidence.
