By Krista Desens

LONDON, UK Friday Apr.15.2005 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- The nominations are in for the UK's prestigious Ivor Novello songwriting awards, and Keane, U2 and Franz Ferdinand are among this year's contenders.

Keane's song "Everybody's Changing" from the album "Hopes and Fears" is up for "Best Song Musically & Lyrically." Other artists nominated in this category include The Streets and Natasha Bedingfield.

Franz Ferdinand received a nod for "Best Contemporary Song" for "Take Me Out" from the band's self-titled debut. Franz Ferdinand faces competition from The Streets and Wolfman, featuring former Libertine Pete Doherty.

Artists nominated for "International Hit of the Year" include U2 for "Vertigo" from "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb," Band Aid 20's "Do They Know It's Christmas?" and Limp Bizkit's cover of the Who class "Behind Blue Eyes," written by Pete Townshend.

The 50th Ivor Novello Awards for British songwriters, composers and music will take place at London's Grosvenor House on May 26, 2005.

Am I the only one who can't believe how successful Keane are? Someone buy them a guitar or two!!!

I'd be quite pleased if Franz Ferdinand got the gong, although I do love Vertigo.
