U2 to Deliver Massive Pay-Day for GAA
GAA bosses will receive a huge pay-day from June's U2 concerts at Croke Park.
The gigs, on June 24 and 25, will mark the launch of the Irish group's European tour.
U2 played Croke Park in 1987 during their Joshua Tree tour, and more than 120,000 people attended over the two days.
Revenue from the concerts will help offset the €60m debt on the stadium following its redevelopment.
"Bringing U2 to Croke Park is a very good deal for us," said stadium manager Peter McKenna.
He added: "We haven’t had a major concert at Croke Park in a long while so it's great for everyone associated that it's going ahead."
Tickets go on sale in the middle of February.
