Stars Breakfast on Pluto
It's not everyday a bunch of top celebrities come out in numbers to show support for an Irish transvestite but when the cross-dresser happens to be Cillian Murphy the picture becomes clearer.
Golden Globe nominated actor Cillian Murphy had the European Premiere for his latest movie Breakfast on Pluto in Dublin's Savoy Cinema recently and the stars came out in their droves.
With a fantastic Irish cast and a fantastic Irish story this Neil Jordan directed movie premiere attracted massive interest from both national and international media.
And typically in the middle of all the chaos was none other than cowboy hat wearing Bono who turned up with his stunning missus Ali Hewson.
The only hiccup on the night for Bono occurred when Neil Jordan greeted him with a tight embrace and knocked the trademark hat off his head.
Poor Bono didn't look too impressed as he replaced his hat, trapping a looping section of fringe which struck-out across his forehead.
He seemed to look to his wife Ali to ask if he looked OK but we don't think she had the heart to tell our Bono that his hair was sticking out as they posed for photos!
We have to say that the Breakfast on Pluto was one of the best Premieres we've had in Dublin for a long time with a great buzz coming from the critical acclaim this movie has received from critics on both sides of the Atlantic.
That combined with the fact that the movie's leading man Cillian Murphy had just been nominated for a Golden Globe added to the party atmosphere.
After the Premiere most of the cast and invited VIPs made their way to the afterparty in Lillies Bordello while crafty old Bono and pals had a private drink back in The Clarence Hotel before joining up with the rest of the revelers.
We recommend that you go and see Breakfast on Pluto this weekend - it's a very unusual and compelling story with commendable performances by all involved, especially Cillian Murphy and newcomer Ruth Negga.
Bono even took his hat off for this movie!
