Will Bomb achieve the 4 Platinum status in Europe?

It's certified as 3xPlatinum by IFPI, but I think it sold a lot more than that.
I read that Bomb sold about 550k in Italy, 450k in France and 400k in Germany.
It has also sold 200k+ in Spain and we know that UK sales are nearly 1.200.000.

So it's:

1.200.000 (UK) + 550.000 (IT) + 450.000 (FR) + 400.000 (GE) + 200.000 (SP) = 2.800.000

We have to add Holland, Belgium and Ireland sales where U2 are huge, then Portugal, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Switserland, Austria, Poland, Chez republic, Hungheria,Greece, Turkey etc...

Bomb should be close to 4 million copies now.

Do you have any figures for whole european sales?

Right, this is better : This is what i've got from updating the following list, which includes figures from 20 European countries. Bare in mind that 13 of these countries' figures are unchanged from 6 months ago though the overall figure has still gone up by 400K, from the 7 other countries, since then :

Now we know that Bomb is 200k from 4 Platinum, but I think it's going to take months before the achievement.

P.S.: As an italian I'm proud that Italy is on a per capita basis the most "U2's nation" in the world (apart Ireland of course...).

I would think that's really quite likely. In fact i believe it's actually now shipped 1.3m in UK : well, Tallarico recently posted an official press release from Universal saying that it's 'sold 1.3m in UK' - but i know for sure it should now be at about 1,206,000.

ps - couple of things regarding shipments though :

- although IFPI Platinum Awards are described as awards for 'pan European sales of ?m' i still kind of thought they were mainly based on shipments. So if it has shipped 4m in Europe then why isn't it certified for 4xPlatinum IFPI Europe award already ?

- after seeing MusicWeek's 2005 list of the top UK sourced shipped albums for outside UK, i really now don't believe Bomb can have shipped more than 9.4m worldwide (9m min, 9.4m max).

You must to add a lot of countries like Romania, Russia...for example: my friend Illusion from u2place, an italian fan site , said that in Russia Madonna sold 180k, more than green day and u2....we can believe that u2 are near 120k only in Russia....I think 4 x plat in Europe is right!

in Ireland we have 10 x platinum = 150k!
