How is it possible that the bomb slips from 13 to 21 in Europe and has a strong result in the World Charts? The result in the US wasn't better than last week.

PS: Do you know how is working the new Stones single on the Billboard rock chart?

3 things :

- it's slipped 8 spots in Europe ( ) but this dosen't necesarily mean it sold less or got less points (on mediatraffic chart).

- in the US Bomb actually rose 6 spots this week so it probably got more points & sales were only 1 % less than last week.

- Bomb may have also simply performed better in ROW this week (eg Japan, Australia, S.America etc).

It's probably again the point system of mediatraffic.

Yes

...IMO there was, at the very least, a v.small decrease in sales in Europe & US this week - so the increase may well have come from the ROW.

Btw - i believe the European album chart is based only on points (not sales).

I don't think that 'A Bigger Bang' will have a chance against the bomb...RS aren't the bigsellers they were a long time ago.

Exactly.
The RS are probably the only band around whose albums sell around the same as their tours!

Actually the Rolling Stones Tours sell considerably more than the albums do.

Sting2, I was tempted to say that their tours sell actually better than their albums but I was unsure about Steel Wheels and Vodoo Lounge whose sales were ok I guess (several million copies worldwide), maybe matching corresponding tours´ sales.

I like the Stones (love some of their stuff actually) but really, they should have retired in the early ´80´s.
It´s nice to see U2 haven´t gone down the same path and are still able to come up with RELEVANT music after 25 years of their first album release.
