I wonder if the blackberry ad in is having an effect? i seen it for the first time last night in the UK.

I hear Crazy Tonight, today :hyper: It looked like the album version, though.

Portugal. By the way... Can someone put here the Portugal U2's album chart?

No line on the horizon chart run in Portugal:
1 - 1 - 1 - 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 7 - 10 - 14 - 17 - 18 - ? - 29 - out top 30 - 21 - 27 - 22

Interesting that Green Day and Coldplay cannot sell out arenas in the current economic environment.

The "Chart Beat" page has a good rundown of the Triple A chart's history and U2's unprecedented success on the Adult Rock Chart since it debuted in 1996. Crazy Tonight is up to #11, too, and has a decent chance at being another #1 for U2 on this chart. Link: Music News, Reviews, Articles, Information, News Online & Free Music | Billboard.com

The Billboard.Biz site still has the regular BOXSCORE chart format, but you need a subscription to see it. The Print addition in the stores has the regular Boxscore format as well, but that often does not hit the stands for a week or even two weeks after the online information for the latest week comes out.

Still, somone must have a Billboard Biz subscription because the latest totals from Nice and Berlin were posted.

Here they are plus the totals after 8 shows:

July 15, 2009
Nice, France
Stade Charles Erhmann, Nice
GROSS: $6,261,208
ATTENDANCE: 55,641
SHOWS: 1
SELLOUTS :1
Average Ticket Price: $112.53

July 18, 2009
Berlin, Germany
Olympic Stadium
GROSS: $9,169,830
ATTENDANCE: 88,265
SHOWS :1
SELLOUTS: 1
Average Ticket Price: $103.89

U2 360 TOUR: 1ST LEG EUROPE STATS

GROSS: $71,328,094
ATTENDANCE: 666,311
Average Gross: $8,916,012
Average Attendance: 83,289
Average Ticket Price: $107
Shows: 8
Sellouts: 8

I'm uncertain as to whether the attendance and gross for the Venues in Berlin and Nice are records. Both may be records for single show gross and attendance if not for multiple shows, although I don't recall anyone playing multiple shows at each venue on the same tour.

I think 6K is a good estimate. We were getting actual SoundScan data for a while. Has that "source" stopped?

This rebound is good. NLOTH was following the path of "Pop" rather closely for a while, but "Pop" never had a rebound. With NLOTH rising again, even if it's still relatively low on the charts, it bodes well for a longer chart life. Hopefully the continued success of "Crazy" and the start of the U.S. tour will further help NLOTH.

Just saw on the UKmix forum someone posted that NLOTH is up to # 5 in France.

They had a hell of a run in France, Italy, Spain, Poland, Ireland and the Netherlands (or Im pretty sure they have).

Does anyone have their chart run in the Netherlands???

Mediatraffic's global chart just updated....NLOTH at # 36 (40) with an increase of 1k copies, which I think is Bull Shit because it went up in nearly every country this past week (US, UK, France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Ireland, ect...).

WTF is that about?

Doesn´t make any sense. From now on I will give credit to MusicCharts estimates and forget about MediaTraffic.

MusicCharts estimates are most likely even more off than Mediatraffic, very few countries actually give out sales data both of them are estimating nearly all the sales they report

Still 31000 this week? Has to be more

nloth n.36 this week on mediatraffic with 31.000 copies sold. so far have sold 3.104.000 on german site +7,5% not coverage by them the real amount worldwide is 3.336.000 copies sold. in other worldwide site musiccharts with 1 week less (sunday will be update) the amount is 3.401.400 copies sold. i think musiccharts.net is more accurate and is the best source for worldwide sales.

You sir are a great person!! Thank you for taking the time to post those numbers. If you are in the US, have a great day. If you are across the Atlantic...have a great afternoon/night

Doesn´t make any sense. From now on I will give credit to MusicCharts estimates and forget about MediaTraffic.

The only thing I can think of is that this week is based on last weeks chart positions around the world and next week will be based on all of the increases from this week. However, last week saw large chart jumps across the board too, so I who knows.....

Three albums by Michael Jackson will soon enter the top 10 in the next few weeks. Thriller may enter the top 10 next week.

Yes i cannot believe the MediaTraffic figures for the last 2 wks, it incresed significantly in virtually all (significant) markets & yet they give it an inrease of just 1k. In France alone it increased by around 6k!...on Euro Top 100 albums it's up again 3 spots to #12 :

15-1-1-1-1-1-1-2 (1m IFPI Q1 '09)-3-4-5-5-6-10-11-15-17-18-20-15-12 (21 woc)

next week with the UK re-entry it'll almost certainly be back in the top 10

In Ireland it went up to #2! Now I know its a small market, but still. That means increase in Ireland, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, UK, US, Canada. All this markets saw large chart jumps for U2. But like I wrote before, perhaps it will be reflected in next weeks chart.

I agree with you.
In any case, the difference between the extrapolated Mediatraffic figure and MusicCharts figure is rather narrow so I say we take Mediatraffic as the inferior limit and MusicCharts as the superior limit.

Last 2 weeks US sales are finaly in!!

76 93 U2 No Line On The Horizon 5819 4916

Even the're not touring the US, album sales are increasing there as well.

If the the tour hits the US can it climb to the top 40 or 50?

These must not be the lastest numbers, right? Because in another thread, I read that NLOTH is now #2 in Ireland (and I wouldn't be surprised to see it go to #1).
