Looking back at this tour, I am absolutely amazed at these numbers. From the average gross and attendance to the total gross and attendance, it is clear that they are the biggest draw in the world.

The only disappointment I have is that since this is the biggest tour ever, I wish they maximized their gross. I hate looking back and saying "well, if they did the stadium tour in 2001 that they planed to do...." or "well, if they just waited a year to finish POP and then toured".

With 360, my only "regret" is that they didn't play Japan and didn't play the 10 more dates (roughly 8 markets) that they could have in Europe. If you take these dates:

Figure 7 million per show average, that would have been an additional $70 million on top of the $740 million that they will gross. The full potential of this tour would have been roughly $810 million for a purely stadium tour (not to mention if they really wanted to milk out an extra few million ala the Stones they could have played Hawaii and Boston).

With that said, what they did is OUT OF THIS WORLD.

They could have played a show in Tokyo and Osaka, and Tel Aviv. Not sure about Seoul, as international artists (Celine Dion, Eagles, Billy Joel) tend to bring crowds below 15,000.

But this is already the biggest tour in history, what an incredible achievement. I'm sure they'll visit Japan on the next tour, but too bad they missed an incredible show.

If Moncton is under 80k, then Montreal will have the biggest canadian crowd of the tour - and they did it twice. AFAIK, this beat the Montreal record of Pink Floyd at 78k that stood for 34 years. Stones did 85k in Moncton.

Is the Toronto x3 total a record for english speaking Canada for 1 venue on a tour? Bruce did 5 stadium level shows in 84/85, Floyd did 4 on Momentary and some other acts have done 3 nights. Celine's 11 nights in Montreal(360 arena)a few years ago is untouchable.

If Moncton is under 80k, then Montreal will have the biggest canadian crowd of the tour - and they did it twice. AFAIK, this beat the Montreal record of Pink Floyd at 78k that stood for 34 years. Stones did 85k in Moncton.

Is the Toronto x3 total a record for english speaking Canada for 1 venue on a tour? Bruce did 5 stadium level shows in 84/85, Floyd did 4 on Momentary and some other acts have done 3 nights. Celine's 11 nights in Montreal(360 arena)a few years ago is untouchable.

I think the Rolling Stones actually did 89,000 in Moncton. U2 just did 162,000 in Montreal in just two nights. They would be able to do 11 nights in a 20,000 seat arena with ease!

Maybe not. But in any event, were talking about filling a 20,000 seat arena, not an 80,000 seat stadium. Selling 162,000 tickets for two shows is FAR more impressive than selling 220,000 tickets for 11 shows. Huge difference. With arena's, you have more shows and more dates to arrive at the same attendance level which makes achieving a 200,000 or 300,000 attendance mark, much much easier. You also benefit much more from the hardcore fans who go to multiple shows when you play arena's. The max capacity of the venue is much closer to the size of the hardcore base thats willing to go to 5 to 10 shows. If a fan can't make a show earlier in the month or a particular week or day, with 11 or more arena shows, it won't be a problem and they will find an open date in which they can attend.

Was there last night and it was packed. Very good show but I wouldn't do GA again, I remember looking at picks from the Michigan show and there was a lot of space on the floor. Last night, the GA was PACKED. I took some great pics and the entire place was filled to the gills!
