Well, #6 on Rock Digital Song Sales and #11 on Hot Rock Songs (combined Alternative, Active rock, AAA airplay and streams/sales), but didn't make it to the Hot 100.

Updates for 13th September:

TBT still showing steady gains on the 3 formats it is currently charting on:

Triple A: moves up 2 spots to number 12, adding another 58 spins to 352 spins total, with AI at 1.298m

Alternative: moves up 1 spot to number 34, adding another 57 spins to 449 spins total, with AI at 2.621m

Hot AC: moves up 2 spots to number 44, adding another 29 spins to 203 spins total, with AI at 1.947m

Still no sign of TBT in the top 50 yet for AC or Active Rock (only a couple of spins away here though).

You would think they might still have some sort of latent deal agreed with iHeart from late last year when they nearly released TBT and SOE by all accounts?

No stations in the Rhode Island area seem to have picked up the song. I know that WBRU refuses to play any U2 and WHJY doesn't have it in their rotation either. Rhode Island used to be such a U2 friendly state...what has happened??

So today is the start of the new radio airplay tracking week and TBT was pushed to Alternative and AAA on Monday and Tuesday.

Current rankings from HDD as of today, 12:15 PM (west coast time) have it at: #35 on Alternative (Mediabase had it entered at #34, Billboard officially at #36 for the last tracking week), #10 on AAA (neck and neck with new Beck song -- Mediabase had it entered at #12, Billboard at #16 for the last tracking week).

It's also made a surprise, not surprise appearance at currently at #44 on Hot AC (think this might be what billboard calls "Adult Pop Songs" or "Adult Top 40" given that U2's past two singles did fairly well on the format.

Though TBT has not officially been issued to the format, nor does it appear like there are plans to do so. Same goes for Active Rock stations, where it is being played some, but has not made the top 50 of the chart.

No word yet on AC or Top 40/CHR stations.

So here are the updates I have from Mediabase as of 9p ET in order of Format size/importance. Some posters have already mentioned a lot of these updates but Ill give you some extra details and my thoughts…whatever thats worth..lol

You're the Best Thing About Me:

Hot AC: #44
- #44 with 203 plays and 1.947 million impressions(listeners)
-8 stations added the song (tied for 3rd most adds)
-24 stations paying it and its up 217 spins w/w

Alternative: #34
- #34 with 449 plays and 2.621 million impressions (listeners)
-28 stations added the song (tied for #1 most added)
-55 stations paying it and its up 516 spins w/w (This is the 2nd biggest play increase on the format)

AC:
- Not currently charting in the top 50
-Actually showed up on the "Spincrease" chart with 2 stations playing it 4x

Active Rock:
- Not currently charting but will likely chart within the next day or two tops
-4 New station added the song (#1 most added)
-15 stations paying it and its up 102 spins w/w (5th biggest increase)

Triple A: #12
- #12 with 352 plays and 1.298 million impressions
-17 stations added the song (#1 most added song)
-29 stations paying it and its up 409 spins w/w. This is the biggest play increase on the format.

Its charting within the top 50 on 3 different formats, one of which is a very important format from a potential exposure standpoint (Hot AC) and it will chart either today or tomorrow on the Active Rock format. It finally showed up in some form on the AC charts, albeit in the form of 4 increased plays from a mere 2 stations. It has hit a total of 1004 plays and 5.87 million impressions in 1 week. To put that in some context, it took the Miracle about 1 month before it hit 1000 plays and 2 months before it hit that many impressions. While both are first singles, The Miracle was "released" very differently and radio stations had 10 other songs to play from U2 vs just 1.

Still nothing to write home about but the large gains from Triple A an alternative are encouraging but it really comes down to Hot AC and AC to a lesser extent as those 2 formats have a massive amount of potential impressions and plays vs the other formats (save for Alternative, which is about the same size as AC).

Cosmo Out!

Is this a quote from the article or another source? Just curious about the line regarding no planes to push the song to AC (perhaps it was Hot AC) or Active Rock?

Not sure why U2 wouldn't push the songs on those formats as this song is built for Hot AC and AC and why not push it to all formats, especially if its going to get airplay.

I literally mean that on industry websites for the formats like on Mediabase, TBT doesn't appear in the future releases section, nor does it appear in the current releases section/"Cool New Music".

LOL! It seems to have gone into reverse on today's updates! 'Only' up 12 spins on Triple A, drops 60 spins and a tonne of AI on Alternative, flat on spins on Hot AC but drops AI.

So after only a week of pretty decent rises, all of a sudden it stalls and loses ground? Beck's "Up All Night" which for the whole previous week had been competing neck a neck with TBT on both Triple A and Alternative continues its rise up both charts at a similar rate.

Over to someone wiser to explain that one!! Maybe its been pulled to make way for the Kygo remix, rumoured to debut tomorrow?

Umm...shit happens?

The Kygo remix will get some spins in Top 40 stations, not sure about the Rock/Alternative ones.

Pretty low in the UK and Ireland honestly, but hopefully they can improve. And shame they haven't made the hot 100 yet.

Apparently it got to #48 on the French singles chart according to wikipedia, but on the SNEP website it's on #48 for digital downloads, but didn't actually make it on to the singles chart? Am I reading this right?

Also Kworb estimates that on American iTunes it got 9k downloads on September 6 and 7th, and 15k downloads from the 8th to the 14th.

92 in the UK singles chart. Terrible.

97 in Ireland, where they otherwise had been making the top 10 since Fire in 1981! The only non-top 10 hits they had in Ireland were like numbers 11 (LNOE and IGWSHA), 13 (Ordinary Love), 15 (A Celebration), and 24 (Invisible). And now YTBTAM is 97. Shocking.
