Tallarico said:
Vertigo peaked at #31
Aboy at 101
Sometimes at 97

Off the top of my head I think Tallarico is correct - maybe #102 for ABOY. But I'm sure of #31 for Vertigo & #97 for Sometimes.

Those are the right positions..........and from the looks of it, I don't think "City" can possibly break the Top 100....

VERTIGO
Billboard Hot 100
Date: 09/10/2004 - Run: 46-45-44-39-32-32-32-*31*-31-36-36-36- (12 wsf)
01/01/2005: 37-37-40-38-52-61-44-47 (20 wks)

ALL BECAUSE OF YOU
Bubbling Under Hot 100
Date: 22/01/2005 - Run: 114-113-109-*101*-102-112-118 (7/3/1 wks)

SOMETIMES YOU CAN'T MAKE IT...

Bubbling Under Hot 100 / Billboard Hot 100
Date: 02/04/2005 - Run: 109-109-99-99-*97* (5/3 wks)

Soldatti: Can you check the run for "Sometimes..." again? I thought it hit #98 one week - and I'm positive that after reaching #97, it dropped out, bounced back in the Hot 100 and dropped out again. I'm sure in those weeks, it was in the Bubbling Under chart.

The Hot 100 run for Sometimes was 99-99-97, only 3 weeks on chart and 2 weeks on the Bubbling Under at 109. If a song reaches the Hot 100, never again will chart on the Bubbling Under chart.
Maybe you're talking about the Billboard Pop 100, the chart run for Sometimes there is different:
Date: 23/04/2005 - Run: 98-*87*-0-0-98-100 (4-2c wks)

Ultimately, these positions mean very little. All that matters is airplay (Modern Rock, Adult Top 40, etc.). In that respect, Vertigo did extremely well and All Because of You and Sometimes did moderately well.

Also, if Digital Sales had been a factor in how the Hot 100 was computed back when Vertigo was out, it would have been a top 5 hit (possibly even number 1). Actually, Digital Sales became part of how the Hot 100 is computed after Vertigo peaked, due in large part to how well Vertigo performed. Since then, most of the high charting singles have Digital Singles, but ABOY and Sometimes did not because U2's US Marketing group are morons. As a result, these singles could not chart very well despite some decent airplay.
