Okay so what countries do we have information for end of year so far?

I know of these....

Austria #48
New Zealand #14 (only 3 wks counted)
UK #19
Netherlands #38

All up, with week 6 included, I estimate sales of 2.6 million, though the two world chart sites are about 10% lower.
For the first time ever (I think) the USA was not the highest selling territory for a U2 album!

End of year charts in Belgium (5 weeks in chart in 2006)

Flanders : 41
Walloon : 59

BTW..

One with Mary J Blige is
16 in Flanders
35 in Walloon

Switzerland : 33rd

Ireland : 5th (also dvd's : ZooTV 8th, U218 Singles 10th & singles : MaryJ/U2 One 15th)

...also UK singles : U2/MaryJ One 35th with ~150k & U2/Green Day Saints just outside top 75 with ~75k

Counting artist albums only it was actually 4th in Ireland. I would guess it sold somewhere around 70k in those 1st 6 wks - so maybe 4/5xP now (Platinum =15k in Ireland).

...also 'Saints' was 30th best selling single

So we have -

Austria - 48
Australia - 12
Belgium - 41 & 59
Canada - 10
Ireland - 4
Netherlands - 38
New Zealand -14
Switzerland - 33
UK - 19

UK is 19th not 9th (# 9 finished on 854k).

In Canada it's # 10 on the chart this week. But it surely can't have been the 10th best seller of 2006 (it's 'only' sold ~100k)...& anyway i don't believe Nielson/Soundscan have even compiled an EOY chart yet.

@ChargedVT, R U sure it was 12th after 6 wks in OZ? For the EOY chart i thought they'd only include the 1st 4 wks of it's run like they did for Bomb.

oh sorry i thought that was for this week, not end of year position.

Its selling perfectly fine...out of the albums that have come out lately its probably the 2nd biggest seller of the time period behind The Beatles. Infact its doing much better then I am sure people here expected, as an interference comunity as a whole.

I am positive it was for 6 wks of sales....
The report I saw said it was for sales between 26/12/05 and 1/1/07, also the Damien Leith album was #5 with 250k sold, and 12th man was #9 with over 200k sold.
It's weird because one year (2003) the end of year chart included 55 weeks of sales because the previous year only covered until mid-December.
I did estimate 180-190k for U218, seems I was pretty close.
