With that 84,000 copies sold in Japan the album debuted #39 in the world chart. It will be #1 next week.

"+++ ALBUMS: in its first full sales week, Eminem's 'Encore' sold 1.475.000 copies - enough to holds the no.1 position of the global chart for a second week, far away from the competition - in addition with the previous week sales 'Encore' moved a total of 2.518.000 copies worldwide in only 10 days! +++ 'Destiny Fulfilled' by Destiny Child bowed at no.11 last week, because it was a few days earlier released in the USA and Japan - now after the global release the album shoots to no.2 on a 404% jump to 756.000 copies sold +++ Britney Spears' 'Greatest Hits: My Prerogative' holds the no.3 spot on a 32% dip to 437.000 copies and Shania Twain's 'Greatest Hits' slides 2-4 on a 45% drop to 383.000 copies +++ highest debut of the week is 'Crunk Juice' by Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz - the album enters at no.5 with 371.000 units and leads 11 new-entries on the top-40 list: Clay Aiken's 'Merry Christmas With Love' at no.7 (275.000 copies), Snoop Dogg's 'R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece' at no.8 (263.000 copies), Ai Otsuka's 'Love Jam' at no.10 (224.000 copies), The Gospeller's 'G10' at no.12 (195.000 copies), Chingy's 'Powerballin' at no.17 (144.000 copies), Blue's 'Best Of' at no.19 (132.000 copies), Alejandro Sanz' 'Grandes Éxitos 91-04' at no.22 (121.000 copies), Neil Young's 'Greatest Hits' at no.32 (95.000 copies), Pearl Jam's 'Rearviewmirror (Greatest Hits 1991-2003)' at no.33 (95.000 copies), and U2's 'How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb' at no.39 (early sales of 84.000 copies in Japan)++

It's interesting to see how much the US's sales contribute to the worldwide sum for many of those albums. For example, "Crunk Juice" and Clay Aiken's sales are almost entirely from the U.S.

In contrast, I have a feeling U2's numbers will be huge next week - and it'll truly be a worldwide sum.
