You'd conclude that Garcia isn't very likely to hang on to his lead. This is correct procedure.
But on the pgatour.com round 1 leaderboards, golfers who have teed off are ranked from 1 onwards as they tee off and post scores. Golfers who haven't teed off are not ranked. This is similar to what is done at the Olympics.

heading out to a bar (where, incidentally, i watched the Red Sox win the World Series back in 2004) to watch the game with some friends.

should be good, and a great way to wrap up these games.

also, Schmeg, what are "boy points?"

Dear USA,

We sort of need this one, to break the gold medal record. How awesome would that be, for the host country? We're sure you understand and will act accordingly.

Love,

Canada

Oh god, SO nervous.

Live on NBC!

Gentlemen, regardless of what happens it's been a good run...but if you win you get a priceless gold medal, you get to hear our national anthem and you become forever linked to 1960 and 1980...

Today's the day!

I'd say the game is in God's hands, but I don't want Gretzsky deciding the outcome of this one.

Pretty much. I had planned to go downtown to watch the game, but decided against it, as I'm feeling too damn lazy today. I've heard that all the trains were packed going into the downtown area as early as 3 hours ago, so I'm sure it's extra nutty down there. I'd rather be in the comfort of my own home, although it would be crazy fun to join in the celebrations there if we win.

I feel like I should go stand outside of Walter's house, or something.

Yeah, for all the Jays playoff games, I watched at home, generally with my dad. It was too important to me to spend it in some noisy bar, distracted. But I was in Toronto for a concert when they won one of the games in '92, and the win was announced just as we were leaving the venue, so that was cool, we got to join the celebration out in the streets.

I've been downtown for other celebrations/riots related to hockey, and those were alternately awesome and terrifying, so it's not as if I haven't experienced something like that before. I figure I can handle the stress better at home, anyway.
