Yes, I meant that I don't really recognise the name. Definitely wouldn't recognise him on the field, though I may have a decent excuse in that regard.

Even Franco Cozzo recorded a message for Foot-a-scray! Franco Cozzo shows his support for Western Bulldogs ahead of 2016 grand final

Love Franco Cozzo.. I hope that they never knock down that wonderfully dated building as you drive into Footscray!

Can't see Dangerfield losing tonight, but would be absolutely thrilled if Dusty polls 20+ and snares second.

Parker has been stellar, but Sydney have a whole bunch of midfielders who will keep sharing votes amongst each other.

7's coverage will be intolerable, but I always enjoy the count.

I hope all that Dustin Martin receives tonight is a restraining order. Thug.

No way am I going to manage to stay awake for the end of the count tonight.

Still unconvinced that AFL.com.au isn't anything other than a fawning promotional vehicle for one P. Dangerfield.

A well-deserved Goal of the Year for Eddie Betts.

Definitely, it was a belter of a goal. Can't say the same for the mark of the year. Great mark by Daw, but I thought Easton Wood took a more impressive hanger during the year. Daniher's grab was probably more deserving.

I'm assuming Vlad is just stoked that Paddy Dangerfield polled the most votes in Brownlow history.

That he hasn't and likely won't win a premiership is good enough for me.

Honestly, he has always polled well at Brownlows, even in seasons when he hadn't been at his best. And now that he's at a Victorian media darling of a club, it was a no brainer that he was going to win this year.

I still have very little respect for him though.

"Likely won't win a premiership".. ?

Id say Geelong are pretty well positioned to contend for a good three years or so. There is a good mix of contenders for next year though, with all of Sydney, Geelong, Adelaide, West Sydney and Footscray all priming for a genuine go at it.

So happy to have the 'Dogs in the final. I have this unshakable feeling that Sydney are going to come out and execute some sort of football masterclass against them (like Geelong vs Port Power in '07).
I hope not.

I fear the grand final will be a re-run of 2013 when the underdog is over-awed early on and concedes too many goals to recover. On the other hand, we've written off the Dogs the last three weeks and they keep finding a way to stay in it. I feel that if their luck was going to run out, it was going to run out in the prelim. I want to believe so hard.

The other thing the Dogs have going for them is that, unlike Port '07 or Freo '13, they're not travelling anywhere. Sydney's got to come to them. That's got to help.

What a superb piece, both content and style. I'm going to miss Dennis so much; footy will be strange without hearing his voice every week.

Hopefully one day many years in the future somebody will write something similar about how fucking good a sports journo Russell Jackson is.

Expected to see this thread burnt down after the Brownlow. Crows tragic Cricinfo's Dan Brettig had a huge whinge on Twitter, you should look it up Vlad. You'll love it.
