Sherman's gone to the Bulldogs for their compensation pick.

well history says something will happen in the final hour, but you're right, it won't go down as one that sticks in the mind, in this, the 30th anniversary of Dick & the rock.

that Lowndes/Besnard battle was brilliant though. riveting stuff

Yeah, Lowndes vs Besnard was the one time when I was really riveted and didn't want to move away for any reason. Otherwise I've found myself at the computer (with half an eye on the telly) much more than I expected to be this year.

Thanks to that drive-through, Holdsworth/Besnard now have a shitload of work to do unless they can score a favourable safety car. Speaking of the safety car, Seton/Bargwanna gone just now ...

nice touch with the form finish... payback for '77. but it's not quite the same when Holden outnumbers Ford so greatly.

By this time next year, I'll be surprised if I remember anything from this race other than Coulthard's spectacular early exit.

Haha, we so won Trade Week. We got Jacobs for pick 33 and 67, and NOT 14!

North did pretty well.

they got rid of dead wood "i kicked eight goals against Geelong once" Hale and picked up McKinley for nothing.

No, nothing having to do with your club itself, it's just ...

Didn't he say that he would retire if he wasn't traded. I mean, I don't quite remember how he got to Freo (fall out of favour with the Pies?) but he definitely applied himself to a new role well and all ...

Sounds like he was being a little arrogant.

Goodes is international rules skipper this year.

I truly hate to play this card, (and this is extra difficult to say because he's a Yorkes boy!) but I can't help but feel that he wouldn't be given half the laudes he has been awarded with if he weren't a Nunga.

i had to look up "nunga" (though i guessed what it was). it sounds derogatory (though i know that you are well above slagging off aboriginals Bonnie) so i was surprised to discover it is a term of self-reference.

and to an extent i agree. it's really hard to say whether he would have received the same plaudits or not, as he is a terrific player, but i can definitely see where you're coming from.

Haha yeah, I had a feeling there would be some confusion, it's just used here the same way Koorie is over on your side.

It's not that he's a bad player, far from it - but not a two-Brownlow, constant B&F winner and national captain. I just can't help but feel he's frequently elevated above other similarly talented players solely to be seen as a well-respected role model for budding young indigenous fans. Which has its admirable qualities too, of course, but it's also misguided for a number of reasons - patronisation being one of them.
