This is surely the greatest Test series in Sri Lankan history, no? Astounding result.

So England beat the ODI record score by hitting 3/444 against Pakistan.

The bar may have been raised a couple of times between 2006 and now, but I'm not going to forget the 438 game in a hurry.

Yeah that game still better than England's new high score.

How insane does Peter Moores' stint as their coach seem? They lost to Bangladesh in the WC and were kicked out early. He gets the arse and bang they become arguably the best ODI team.

Guptill has played 46 Tests for a pisspoor average of 29. If there's any time for him to stand up, it's with NZ 0/55 chasing 376 to beat India in India.

Geez, how shit has NZ's year been. Looks like it's back to how it was before 2013.

I think he's misunderstood, honestly. He didn't ask for any of the hysteria. I was watching that live, an amazing effort.

Thoroughly depressing two days for the Kiwis. But I think we will likely suffer a similar fate in our tour there. Kohli is the best batsman in the world, without a doubt.

Maxwell, misunderstood? He knows literally only one way to bat, and it's usually inappropriate for ODIs, Tests, and even some T20s.

Gross oversimplification. Won us a World Cup. And I think he should be in the Test team every time we play in Asia.

Also, stop deflecting!!! You know New Zealand cricket is in bad shape when Guptill makes 72, your opening partnership is 118, and you're rolled for 299 with Neesham (71) and Latham (53) are the next best scores.

Also, Kohil is TWENTIETH in the ICC batting rankings. Wrap your head around that. He's by far the best batsman in the world if you ask me.

Deflecting? I'm genuinely not even paying attention. We could be winning or losing by a million runs for all I know.

I only really start to get back into cricket each year once it gets warmer and the fucking stuff is actually on telly. Right now I'm still coming to grips with there being no footy.

Also, I really did think that you considered Maxy a flog.

How the hell do bogans hate him? He's their rightful cricketing king!

I love him. He is an exceptional talent. There's plenty of arrogance but you can't separate that from his tennis, he'd be no good otherwise. He just smoked three fellow top-15 players to win the Japan Open.

Yeah, Kyrgios's photo is in the dictionary as the definition of "flog".

And actually, what the hell? Shane Watson, to correct myself earlier, is the king of the bogans - Maxwell is just a prince.

I'd rather Huss than Clarko: Brett Lee, Mike Hussey exit Nine commentary team as Michael Clarke takes over

News Corp is reporting that the network is in discussions with two retired international stars, Kevin Pietersen and Waqar Younis, to make specialist commentary appearances during the summer's two Test series against South Africa and Pakistan.

Ah yes, Pietersen, that well-known player for... England.

Could they really not find a single person who actually played for South Africa? When Ben Stokes retires, will he be hired for special comments on the fucking Black Caps?

Yep. I recall Clarke's previous appearances in the commentary box being decent, but Huss is a good bloke who was above the shit of Slats, Heals, etc.

I barely even recall Lee's contributions, except for that great over against Piers Morgan. Otherwise forgettable.

Offered nothing and another member of the Australian Cricket Team who votes Liberal.

I can't fathom how Cam White doesn't get a gig in the Aus team. Easily in Australia's best 11 players, particularly while we're sucking arse overseas.

Bangladesh performing really well against England in the first Test. Rolled England for 293 with 18yo debutant offie Mehedi Hasan taking 6/80. And they're currently 3/119 in reply; Tamim Iqbal is a great batsman.

It makes me so angry we weaseled out of our Bangladesh tour. I genuinely think they could have won the series against us.

End of day 4. Bangladesh need 33 runs with 2 wickets in hand to chase down England on the final day. Oh Test cricket ...

Tomorrow seems to be as good a day as any to tune in for my first cricket of the season then! Sounds like it will be one hell of a finish.
