Are you going to go to a game, Ashley?

I'm thinking about it. No matter who they play, I'm close enough to go. I just wanted my first game to be in Chicago, but I'll take what I can get. It's gonna just come down to how much it costs, obviously.

I hope they end up playing the Ducks, though. What kid from the 90s doesn't hold at least a tiny bit of love for that team?

I'm hoping the Kings make a comeback so we can secure home ice, but I do like the Ducks far more.

How torturously bad would that be if the final four were to be Pittsburgh, Boston, Chicago, and LA...

Thank god for New York. I can't believe I just said that. Hope Montreal loses though honestly, I don't think I could stomach Habs fans talking about 27.

I really would like to see a Canadian team make the final...it's been...a long...long time.

Edmonton made it in 2006. Ottawa made it in 2007. Vancouver in 2011. Unless you mean win...

I'm totally happy to see Montreal winning that game despite hating them. Like I said earlier... having to stomach Boston again is like having to watch the Heat, Pacers, Thunder, and Spurs (almost imminent, sadly).

But god I also don't want a Canadian team to win a Cup. I'll have to hear at least another five years of how the Panthers are the Hamilton Panthers or something when that day comes.

I missed Vancouver. My thought had been that it had been 7 years since a Canadian team had gone, which is quite a while. Never mind, yeah, how long it's been since they've won.

Congrats to the Canadiens.

Time to put Chara out to pasture.

Montreal in 1993.

Yeah, I was aware of that. It's insane. If the Hawks get knocked out, I'll likely be cheering on the Habs.

There is no fanbase safe from Montreal gloating if they win. None.

If it were any other Canadian team I'd be down with it. No offense to individual Montreal fans who may be cool -- but that fanbase is riddled with elitists who are the equivalent to Indy in an attempted debate. i.e. your opinion is invalid because we are the Canadiens and therefor I have not acknowledged you've spoken because Montreal and therefor Canadiens.

Which is funny because they've only been a legitimate threat a handful of times in twenty years.

I guess 24 championships will keep a fanbase happy for a while.

This is a situation where I really couldn't give less of a fuck about what a fanbase might say. The fact of the matter is that no Canadian team has won it all in over 20 years. Anyone who claims that this clearly indicates dominance by Montreal would be clearly ignorant.

Anyways....my point was never that I wanted to see them win. I'd just like to see them in the final. I really do hope the Ducks take it in game 7, because I need a dog in the fight, should my team fall.

Question for you, Lucky. Are you basing this perception of Habs fans you interact with on hockey boards? Living in Florida, I'm sure you know some Habs fans in person, but I wouldn't paint an entire fanbase so broadly. It's like someone saying U2 fans are insane based on what they see in EYKIW.
