A very good result today, and the Chappell-Hadlee is back on the right side of the ditch. What a performance by Trent Boult with the ball, and by Ross Taylor to equal the most ODI tonnes for New Zealand. We've now won our last eight home ODI series.

Can't wait for all the Aussie wingeing. Hey fuckers, no use pointing out who wasn't in the team - you could have selected them if you wanted to, but you didn't, and whether the result would've been any different is a matter of conjecture (especially as I'd say Stoinis's form right now puts him ahead of Wade or either Marsh). New Zealand's absences, both in the last series and this one, have on the other hand been through injury or retirement. Not shabby for a team undergoing major generational change in its middle order.

Afghanistan's domestic competitions have been granted first class and list A status.

The most exciting thing about cricket in the future would be the introduction/rise of new countries. If you have an opportunity to grow the game, then just bloody grow it.

Seriously, the sluggishness of cricket as an institution to grow and expand is baffling. Ireland should have been playing Tests a decade ago, for example.

Now it seems that Ireland will get the chance soon, but you can mount an argument that despite gaining domestic first-class status, their side has declined in the past few years.

Yep, needed more support when they were surging to ensure they could maintain it and bring in a new generation.

Doesn't help that their best player plays for England. Which is a direct result of them not getting the support because of boneheaded ICC policies.

My dream XI for Pune, the first Test:

Warner
Renshaw
Khawaja
Smith
Handscomb
Nevill
O'Keefe
Starc
Lyon
Hazlewood
Holland

That's a huge risk using only five specialist batsmen plus a keeper, but Nevill is averaging 72 this Shield season and I firmly believe that taking 20 wickets is going to be more important than an extra 50 runs. This way we've got our two best quicks, our two best spinners and the best Shield spinner of season.

My wish from the squad we have (fuck it's a joke Nevill isn't in it):

Warner
Renshaw
Khawaja
Smith
Handscomb
Agar (gets a go ahead of Maxwell to start with, if he doesn't perform, Maxwell's in)
Wade
O'Keefe
Starc
Lyon
Hazlewood

The team that will very likely be playing:

Warner
Renshaw
SMarsh
Smith
Handscomb
MMarsh
Wade
O'Keefe
Starc
Lyon
Hazlewood

No Marsh should be selected for any Australian team.

Any of you catch the women's Australia vs New Zealand T20 just then? Awesome win by New Zealand, with Anna Peterson becoming the first Kiwi woman to take an international hat-trick. It came from the first three balls she bowled that day, and her final delivery resulted in a run-out too. Great ending, great cricket.

The last three overs of tonight's T20... wow. Gunaratne played an unbelievable knock.

Thrilling start to international cricket in Geelong.

So Grant Elliot is at it again. Lahore needed 6 to win off the last over against Islamabad in the PSL with just one wicket remaining, with Grant Elliot on strike......

I hope Ian Smith was there in the commentary box to get another chance to shout "AND HE'S HIT IT INTO THE GRANDSTAND! GRANT ELLIOTT, SUPERMAN!"

How have you not heard Danny Morrison before?! He's fucking amazing. But it does him a great disservice to compare him with BT.

I've heard of him, but I hadn't been able to put the voice to the name!
