José Bautista now has an OPS over 1.4. This is Barry Bonds territory.

Back to back to back series wins! On the road!

Against crappy AL West teams.

You ain't kidding.

The right fielder is hitting .415 with 13 homers and 21 RBIs over the past 19 games. His 16 home runs this season are just two behind the total of the entire Twins team and his five over the weekend is just one shy of the six that Minnesota has at Target Field this season.
Holy hell.

Apparently his SLG is higher than Pujols' OPS.

If Manny Ramirez had the same chemist personal assisitant that Bautista has, he'd still be playing and making $20Mil per annum.

The Twins are your stat-bumping whipping boys so far this year. Have at it folks!

I missed seeing the games, but I don't know why we don't walk Bautista every AB.

imagine the yankees in another two years when jeter is hitting .210 and a-rod is having hip replacement surgery and they're eating up 40 million dollars worth of payroll?

That's exactly what I was thinking last night as Jeter grounded out in the 8th.

I cannot complain, they've had such a fantastic run since '96 but things are going to get a little ugly, I think. At the very least, I hope they move him to the OF next season. Swisher won't be back (Yanks hold a team option on him for '12), so, RF could be open. Will be interesting to watch. Rays up next, hoping another sweep is not imminent.

Down in AA, Banuelos is pitching ok, but is walking a lot of dudes and averaging less than 5 innings a start.

any yankee fan who were to complain while the team enters into this inevitable transition period should be forced to spend the next 10 years as a pirates fan.

I don't disagree. But, as you need not be told, most Yankee fans feel very entitled and have short memories. To sum up: they're not as awesome as me (or Gump).

oh i know... there's an entire generation of yankee fans who have literally never seen their team go through a rough stretch. if you were, say, in Kindergarten when the yankees started this current run, you're currently in your mid 20s. that's crazy.

Well, that generation needs to brace for impact in the not too distant future.

i'd prefer they traded him to the giants for some pitching right now, before his inevitable mid-season injury dilutes his value. they won't resign him.
