Ian McCulloch the U2 fan:
"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."

i've gone through a couple of pro and anti blink phases. loved them pre-what's my age again, then with the popularity that album gained i disowned the singles off enema of the state, however i do really like that album now (and really never stopped liking it) when i listen to everything on it minus "all the small things." so let's see, from when i was 16 til about 25 i couldn't care less for them, i was briefly interested when the last self titled album came out because 1) it was a slightly different sound and 2) while i still to this day have not been able to bring myself to listen to the track: robert smith? that's always gotten a LOL out of me. angel and airwaves weren't terrible, either. right now, i've got a nostalgic spot for the early stuff, and generally enjoy the post-becoming super mainstream stuff again now (cos i don't consider myself too punk rock to enjoy it like i did at first when i was 16).

There's video of me on the Internet playing in a band that covered a couple Blink songs. I believe it was First Date and Dammit.

It's funny how once things are finally not constantly bombarding your senses on the radio, TV, magazines, etc., it's actually possible to appreciate some things you initially hated.

Or the opposite, as what happened to me with Green Day. I was indifferent to them initially, liked them when they weren't popular, and now hate them beyond belief.

The biggest problem I have with Green Day is that they call themselves a punk band.

so true. when things get massively popular either by mainstream and/or people in general (this falls under the "omg you HAVE to watch/hear/whatever this!!!") i usually just hate it by default. i mean, i don't give a shit whether something's popular or not, but just when things are like that. if i went back in time i'd probably enjoy a lot more 90s music now that i'm not hearing it every time i turn on the radio.
