That's a great slate!

Angels & Airwaves cancelled for Saturday :(

Oddly enough, blink-182 cancelled all of their shows not because of Tom DeLonge but rather because of Travis Barker.

DC101 was pretty awesome. Got a drum stick from Civil Twilight. Got a rail spot for the show. So beat after today, but it was pretty cool. The Neon Trees frontman is a total douchebag who needs to grow up. Twin Atlantic was pretty good. AWOLNATION sucked. TATE, naturally, was kickass.

4/13-15 - Coachella
5/4 - My Morning Jacket, Florence + the Machine
5/5 - Son Volt, Childish Gambino, Cold War Kids, Al Green, Gary Clark Jr.
5/6 - Old 97's, The Head and the Heart, Little Richard, the Civil Wars, Alison Krauss & Union Station
5/17 - St. Vincent w/ Shearwater
5/19 - Wilco
7/12 - Beach House

The Cranberries tonite!:hyper:

Ha, actually I'm contemplating going to that show tomorrow in Chicago. The Black Keys are also playing in Milwaukee. It looks like neither show is selling all that well, so I'm probably going to be looking for a last minute steal on Stub Hub for either.

they were SO GREAT! U MUST GO! kicked ass last night. And dolores sounded amazing! They played 22 songs.

seriously go!:hyper:

Over the Black Keys? Cranberries are selling in the $25 - 30 range (and going down) in a small venue, while the keys are selling for $55-65 at an arena. I've heard varying descriptions about how good the Keys are live.

I'd pick the Black Keys/Arctic Monkeys show. I love both bands live.

I barely know their music to be honest. And I get such a mix of opinions on the Black Keys's live performances (didn't a mutual FB friend make some remark about not digging them live a week or so ago?). Two co-workers saw the same Florence + the Machine/Black Keys show last year at Summerfest. One swears the Black Keys were fantastic, which the other one (who actually convinced me to see Florence last month) left halfway through the Keys set. It's hard to know which category I'd fit into. On the other hand, you can get GA's and extremely close seats (2nd row!) on TM right now, and many lowers are selling below face on stubhub.

The Keys don't have a lot of bells and whistles. They are straight ahead garage rock. Heck, it's just Dan and Pat for much of the time. It's just damn good garage rock. I've seen them live 3 times and loved all of them. I'm excited to finally see them at their own show, even if it's at Staples Center.

Arctic Monkeys are brit rock and have crazy energy. They are a bit loud apparently, so bring earplugs if you don't already.

Thus far:
Van Halen 3/3 Mohegan Sun
Van Halen 3/11 Boston

Went to the other side of that coin last night:

Chickenfoot 5/16, Orpheum Theater Boston

3rd row between Hagar and Satriani. First time ever seeing Satriani live...the dude is incredible. Also Chad Smith who is not touring due to commitments with his other band showed up in Boston to surprise his bandmates, so Kenny Aronoff drummed the main set and then Smith handled the encores. Very good show.

Florence + The Machine- 5/12
The Cranberries- 5/14
Garbage- 5/23
Radiohead- 5/31 and 6/1 and 6/3!(DC show thanks to a awesome ateaser):hyper:
Carbon Leaf w/Civil Twilight 6/9
Keane - 6/16
Coldplay- 7/8
Metric - 9/21
Florence + The Machine- 9/19

Previously reported:

February 25 - Lenny Kravitz, Miami
February 27 - Radiohead, Miami
March 4 - The Secret Policeman's Ball, NYC (Coldplay, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Mumford & Sons, Russell Brand, etc.)
March 12 - The Black Keys, NYC
March 22 - Kasabian, NYC
April 20 - Rodrigo y Gabriela, NYC
May 2 - Bruce Springsteen, Newark, NJ
May 31 - Radiohead, Newark, NJ
June 13 - Radiohead, Camden, NJ
August 3 - Coldplay, E. Rutherford, New Jersey

Added some more, including one I already went to...

May 19, 20 - Holy Ghost!, The Roots, Fitz & The Tantrums, Hall & Oates, and more at The Great GoogaMooga Festival, Brooklyn
June 24 - Alabama Shakes (planned - it's a free show), NYC
August 19 - My Morning Jacket, Brooklyn
September 23 - Metric, NYC

I so wanted to go to the Garbage and Jack White shows here last week but struck out on tickets. Contemplated maybe going to the Made in America Festival that is Sept. 1-2 in Philadelphia, but I think I will pass. Also contemplating seeing Peter Gabriel in Philly as well on Sept. 21 since the NYC area date clashes with Metric and is at Jones Beach; since they cut the bus there, it's easier for me to go to Philly, lol.

You should catch Garbage while you're in Chicago. They'll be in town on Aug 7, unless you're hitting both Coldplay shows.

Maybe! Thanks for the heads up. So far the flight is only booked on the inbound, so I'm deciding what to do. I've decided against the Coldplay shows in Chicago though because the price of the Tampa show has gone way down so I'll just see em here.

LOL, you could stay for the Comic Con, Horror Convention and Harry Potter Conventions, all of which will be in town at the same time. If you're feeling dorky enough

Haha we'll see about that...

Best part of all of this though? Classes end Thursday. Lollapalooza on Friday. It'll be an excellent kickoff to a two week summer break.

Nice. I thought about Coldplay, but I didn't want to pay more than face value or for crappy seats, meaning I didn't have any good choices.
