Your 2010 Concert Calendar

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
This year I've been to the first concert - Depeche Mode's concert from "Tour of the Universe" tour. Also I'm going to be at one more one - U2's concert. I'm so excited - one month before THIS! I even had memories about the first one.

oh my FREAKING god i'm seeing LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip in four days. fair to say i will be dancing my skinny white ass right off.

i have however, decided not to see Grizzly Bear (who i just found out are playing for Here We Go Magic) for $70.

going to see Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on July 31st and Arcade Fire on August 2nd in Philly

LCD Soundsystem & Hot Chip, July 29.
Broken Social Scene, August 4.
Passion Pit, August 5.
Tame Impala, October 15.
Gorillaz, December 11.
U2, December?

Hell, just my next week is going to be pretty crazy.

07/29 - The National
07/31 - Sonic Youth
08/01 - St. Vincent
08/03 - The Dead Weather
08/04 - Arcade Fire
08/05 - Metric
08/06 - Paramore

Yeah...I'm gonna be pretty wiped out by that second weekend of August.

08/06 - Paramore

Yeah...I'm gonna be pretty wiped out by that second weekend of August.

A lot of that is my schedule too with the National (tonight, not Thursday), AF, and Metric. Am also doing The Swell Season Friday instead of Sonic Youth Saturday, and the xx next Sunday. Was very tempted to do that Dead Weather show, but I'm taking a pass...five shows in 12 days is enough!

Yeah, I've been thinking about dropping Metric since I saw them in the spring and the show's free. It'll depend on my energy level.

This string of dates will probably be as tiring as last year, when I went to all three days of All Points West Festival and then saw Depeche Mode the Monday after. The beginning of August always has it in for me.

Spent 11 of the 12 days of the Ottawa Bluesfest in mid-July. The one day I missed, my wife, two friends, and I went to see Wolf Parade in Montreal.

This weekend is the Osheaga Arts and Music Festival, which lasts two days. Looking forward to seeing Arcade Fire, Weezer (again), The Black Keys, Beach House, We Were Wolves, and many others.

At the end of August and early September, we have a hectic schedule:
August 28 - My Morning Jacket in Canandaigua, NY
August 29 - My Morning Jacket in Philly
September 6 - U2 in Istanbul
September 8 - Vampire Weekend with Beach House and The Dum Dum Girls in Montreal (really looking forward to this show)

In the end, I couldn't get to see Giovanca (it was also sold out when I finally tried to get tickets). So just a small update this time.

19 March: Bettie Serveert, Tivoli De Helling, Utrecht

LOL - I picked up Aerosmith tickets for $10 from Live Nation. I had no really strong impulse to see them, but at $10, why not?

I've seen Aerosmith three times, always a fun show.

Ringo & His All-Starr Band was so fantastic on Saturday. The band featured Edgard Winter, Rick Derringer, Gary Wright, Richard Page of Mr. Mister and Wally Palmar of The Romantics so I got to hear "Kyrie," "Broken Wings," "Talking in Your Sleep," "What I Like About You," "Frankenstein," "Dream Weaver," "Hang on Sloopy," "Free Ride" and "Rock 'n Roll Hootchie Coo," in addition to Ringo's solo and Beatles songs. Fun, sing-along night that brought back great pop culture memories.

My calendar:
Eddie Izzard -- Jan. 30
John Mayer -- March 25
Carole King and James Taylor -- July 20
Ringo Starr -- Aug. 7
John Mayer and Owl City -- Aug. 24
Green Day and AFI -- Aug. 31

Saw Natalie Merchant last month in Ann Arbor, twice. I had tickets for the show that night, got them for my mom. Then the day before the show I found out she was doing an in store performance and CD signing at the bookstore across the street from the Michigan Theater.

I have one more show left, Muse in Columbus in October.

Oh and if you want to see a group of special people all in one room, go see a Hole concert. Just make sure you see in in Detroit, for some reason Courtney Love doesn't seem to do anything crazy at shows in Detroit.

December 2 - Brandon Flowers, NYC

Brandon Flowers is (probably!) the final concert of 2010 for me (although I see Spiderman on Dec. 4 :) ), although who knows...still keeping an eye on The Strokes and others, although any concerts after this will probably be in 2011.

DId you win the Euro millions by any chance?
If i had the time and money i'd do the same

October is good, but not as good as September was.

This month:
Arcade Fire Friday night
Das Rheingold by simulcast Saturday morning :)hyper: )
Russian Circles (again) on October 23
and maybe an organ recital October 24

And maybe, just maybe Pelican on October 30. Maybe.

I was going to try to take my mom to see South Pacific this month, but I don't think that's going to happen.
