Got a ticket for Mayhem in Islington next month...

As in the black metal Mayhem best known for De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas? I can't even imagine how fucking intense one of their gigs would be.

Personally, my updated schedule:

Past:
29/01: Dream Theater, Festival Hall, Melbourne

Future:
16/02: Explosions In The Sky supported by Eluvium, Corner Hotel, Melbourne
25/04: Porcupine Tree, The Metro, Melbourne
26/04: Porcupine Tree, The Enmore, Sydney
27/04: Porcupine Tree, The Tivoli, Brisbane

Fuck yeah.

That's them! Can't wait! Never seen em' live before so i'm lookin forward to it. Their latest album Ordo Ad Chao from last year was great. I'll have to dig it out again.

Freezing Moon is my fave!

Liars/No Age was friggin' awesome.

I do not know the dates, but tickets bought for Wilco for their last night of their Chicago residency, and, Rush in Chicago as well.

Will be at Lolla for sure, and, hopefully, many many other shows.

Take me with you :flirt:

I'm going to see Wilco by myself this time. I know they'll be as great as they always are, but it would be more fun with someone else. I'm thinking of following them a bit if they tour this summer.

I might catch the New Pornographers/Okkerkill River show when it comes to town in April, and might head up to MA to see Feist a few weeks after that. These will both depend on my workload and $$ situation, though.

The current schedule is:
February 15th: Super Furry Animals
March 16th: Bruce Springsteen
March 30th: Explosions in the Sky
April 11th: Bob Saget
April 15th: Anti-Flag

Past shows:
The Flaming Lips: December 31st/January 1st

Update:
February 28th: A Whisper in the Noise

Concerts in the past:
24 January: Voicst, De Helling, Utrecht

Concerts in the future:
21 March: Arid, Melkweg, Amsterdam
28 March: Claw Boys Claw, Paradiso, Amsterdam
12 July: Doe Maar, Feyenoord Stadium, Rotterdam

I was so impressed by Voicst that I saw them twice again this week. One show was an acoustic showcase for which I'd won tickets! :hyper: The other show was in a really small club. The stage was only 25 cm high and the ceiling was so low that they could not use the video projections they use at their other shows. But it was still a really good gig.

Concerts in the past:
24 January: Voicst, De Helling, Utrecht
6 February: Voicst, Ekko, Utrecht (acoustic showcase)
8 February: Voicst, So What, Gouda (check them out at http://www.myspace.com/voicst)

Concerts in the future:
21 March: Arid, Melkweg, Amsterdam
28 March: Claw Boys Claw, Paradiso, Amsterdam
12 July: Doe Maar, Feyenoord Stadium, Rotterdam

i don't have a lot of shows on the horizon so far.

2/18: tim finn
4/18: moody blues (lol i didn't realise it was two months to the day. my dad wants to see them but hey...they're not a bad band.)

i reeeeeeeeeally want to see liam finn on 3/29 but my mom's on the fence about going to nashville a third time in such a short span. i say we just move there.

other than that, i'm just waiting for someone i like to tour somewhere near me. it's depressing. no one i like is touring, or they're just not touring anywhere around me. like not even anywhere feasible - we're talking new zealand and stuff.

Thus far

Feb 18th - Foo Fighters
April 5th - Explosions in the Sky

hope to get R.E.M. tickets soon for 6/13

Ha. If I were still living in LA, finding people to go with me that I actually am friends with would have been hard, but Wilco are fairly beloved here in Chicago, so I am going with a coworker who I like a lot and who loves them. I think concerts are always more fun when you go with others, but I'd rather go alone than not see a band I really want to see.

I would like to catch the New Pornographers/Okkervill River as well.

Good Vibrations festival this weekend here in Sydney, headlined by Kanye West - should be good, first show after his big Grammy's showing.
Then Interpol next Thursday.

Hopefully all these:

5.4.2008 British Sea Power (w/ The Rosebuds)
5.9.2008 Radiohead
6.21.2008 R.E.M. (w/ The National and Modest Mouse)

... but we'll see

I'm seeing Uh Huh Her in three weeks and I can't wait, and I'm seeing Kylie Minogue in July
And I'm also seeing a band called 'callebra' (I know one of the band members) in march. They're not very big yet, but I think they will be.

Well, let me just say that Explosions In The Sky abso-fucking-lutely destroyed Melbourne. And I was in the front row. Undoubtedly one of the best gigs I've ever seen. The support acts were both fantastic too. I spoke to the lead singer/guitarist/creative force of El May after their set - really lovely woman.

So, calendar update.

Future

26/04: Porcupine Tree at the Enmore Theatre, Sydney
