In the great tradition of great music to come out of Scotland, comes We Were Promised Jetpacks. A band I assure you will be fond of if you have any sort of admiration for the likes of Frightened Rabbit or The Twilight Sad.

Their debut album is out next month in the UK and in July in the US from Fat Cat Records.

Quiet Little Voices was fantastic.

The other song wasn't as strong, but still good.

I see the whole album is streaming here.

Quiet Little Voices is the single, and one of the best songs on the record. The others are really good though as well, especially after a few listens.

So I had listened to this a few times and thought it was good.

Came across them on the iPod this afternoon and took my first listen in a while, and it kicks ass. Quiet Little Voices is still the major highlight, but songs like Conductor, Moving Clocks Run Slow, Keeping Warm, and An Almighty Thud are damn close.

Interesting tidbit: the counting in A Half Built House is taken from a recording of a shortwave numbers station, and can also be heard in Porcupine Tree's song Even Less.
