Hey wolfie, I challenge you to post something that DOESN'T have to do with Van Halen.

Looking at that video, EVH still has it, more than makes up for DLR's rough voice.

How do you know wolf isn't Wolf Van halen??

At any rate, I plan to hit the Mansfield show. Dave was never a great singer. Doesn't matter who is singing, I'll go see Eddie play any chance I can.

Wolfgang would have the decency to have an avatar.

Saw VH 3 times with Sammy. All great shows. Saw DLR in 91 for his A Little Was Too Much Tour. He flat out sucked and I actually dug his 86-91 solo stuff.

One of the worst shows I ever saw was DLR solo, March 1994 at Avalon in Boston. Club show, thought it would be great to see him in a small place. Steve Vai was long gone as was Billy Sheehan....he introduced the guitarist as someone he "went to junuior high with and this is his first time on tour"...we could tell. They didn't play Yankee Rose, arguably Roth's biggest solo hit, and I can only assume it was cause the dude had no shot of playing it. Band was awful, Dave was in poor voice.
Saw him again in 2002 on the Hagar/Roth tour, he was much better and his band was great, had the guitarist from The Atomic Punks with him, an LA VH cover band, that dude can play.
Interestingly enough Gary Cherone joined Sammy for a few numbers that night, so every member of Van Halen not named "Van Halen" graced the stage that night (Michael Anthony played with Sammy for about half his set). Cherone was by far the best singer of the 3.

I've seen VH with all 3 singers, the material with Roth is much better than any other era, so his lack of vocal ability gets enough of a pass to be able to hear Eddie playing his best stuff.

So happy that someone signed up for Interference just to tell us this exciting news!

EVH and AVH are assholes. I wouldn't pay 10 cents to see them at this point, even with Roth back on the mic.

He's not the first. Some dude named VhRoth did it about 7 years ago.

Gary was the best singer. Sammy was the best musician. Dave was the best frontman. Dave doesn't sing. He just speaks the words. EVH is one of the best guitarists of all time.

Nice sarcasm lazarus. Did you not get along with the Van Halen family when you rented an apartment over their garage?

Lazzy wasn't being sarcastic. He shoots straight from the hip. Just like Gene Simmons. Roth did sound terrible, but the Van Halen men behind him kicked ass. If one can tolerate Roth's performance, they're good to go. EVH and AVH did have their years where they were being assholes, but I would say that time has passed. Of course, I'd love to see Sammy back with them, but the old old school fans want DLR.
