Ah Coldplay. Parachutes is their best in my view, Lemel has pretty much said everything I would've, especially about Strawberry Swing.

I'd be very interested to heard Coldplay's "Kid A". If they really were able to put out an about-face like that, I think they'd be crucified for it sadly.

Yeah, because it would suck.

I've been hoping for Coldplay to raise their game for ages, but I think they're still way too timid and anxious to please. Even when they're trying to shake things up a bit it's just all so very careful and polite. I may be proven wrong, but I think that they're ultimately just a good little band trying to act big.

Yes, and yes. Minus the "hoping" part, other than hoping they disappear, completely.

Yeah, Chris Martin doesn't have it in him to write anything ballsy. Give Bono credit, he went out on some limbs back in the day.

Isn't there anybody who thinks X&Y is better than Parachutes and as good as AROBTTH (like me )?
Viva La Vida is their best album IMO and I'm very interested to see if they can now make their TJT.

Okay X&Y was a bit (lot) too bombastic but I thought the songs were stronger than the songs on Parachutes and AROBTTH.

hey, I'm one of the few on here who liked X&Y but I don't think it's as good as Parachutes and certianly not as good as Rush Of Blood...

If you discount lyrics entirely, X&Y is still their least interesting album, but it's not awful. It's Chrissy's lyrics that take that album to a whole new level of fail.

I'm sure many would use the above to describe HTDAAB.

Apparently it's unpopular to think the current topic of this thread sucks.

Don't worry baby, it's gonna be all right. Uncertainty can be a guiding light...

Hey, isn't there a fucking Cockplay thread this can be moved to?

I know most of the opinions here are supposed to be from people with questionable taste, but I'm missing the variety.
