Uncool Music Appreciation ~ Episode 1 ~ Phil Collins Appreciation Thread

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

I listened to No Jacket Required again last night.

It's still quite bad. :|
I don't even want to try Serious Hits... Live!

So I hold on to the memory that ...But Seriously is quite good.

Tracy: I'm gonna make you a mixtape. You like Phil Collins?
Jack: I've got two ears and a heart, don't I?

Surprised about the lack of love for the following:

I Missed Again
I Don't Care Anymore
Take Me Home (featuring Sting and Peter Gabriel on backing vocals)
Long Long Way to Go (featuring Sting on backing vocals)

And from No Jacket Required, one of my favorite Phil songs: Inside Out.

For me, a lot of the stuff that came after the late '80s Genesis era becomes questionable, yet ultimately enjoyable in a sickly sweet way. (However, I still very much like the We Can't Dance material from Genesis...but the solo stuff went downhill.)

I have not read the preceding 9 pages of posts, but seeing a thread like this is a breath of fresh air.
A college friend of mine (who's just slightly less cool than me) introduced me to "The Phil" about 4 years ago.
These songs are awesome:
Against All Odds
Take Me Home
Something Happened on The Way to Heaven
In The Air Tonight (obviously...for its use in Patriots' infamous Snow Game)
and from Genesis....
That's All
Invisible Touch
Home by the Sea

And let us not forget Phil's important involvement in American Psycho...

I look forward to more uncool music threads, hopefully involving Foreigner and Nickelback.
