A list of the top albums of the decade that doesn't include Radiohead is about as relevant as Dick Cheney inventing a new dance move.

Radiohead would have made my list if they had a singer whose vocals I enjoyed. Kid A is a great album but it's a frustrating listen because my appreciation for the music always struggles with my dislike of Thom Yorke's singing, and quite often loses.

Clearly you recognize the irony of complaining about Yorke's vocals when you have Joanna Newsom, Marianne Faithfull etc. on the list.

It would be ironic if their voices irritated me as well, but they don't, though I'm aware that they may not be other people's cup of tea. It's not like there's any consistency or logic involved in which voices annoy me and which don't

Saracene, great songs on your list. Song For Mutya, The Blower's Daughter, The Pipettes (I wish I'd liked the rest of their album as much as that one song).

I attempted to put a ranked list in order, but it didn't work out so well. So, I'm just going to go by artist/bands and then list favorite albums/songs. I don't have my list put together yet, but I get to go to work for the next 8.5 hours, so I'll keep it in mind and post it later tonight. I've really enjoyed everyone else's lists so far!

Good stuff, Cass. A whole lot of picks which coincide with my still-in-progress top 100.

Awesome, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing your blowout of a list. I feel slightly silly for having three Okkervil River albums in my top 25, the most of any artist, but whatever, pretty sure everybody knows the ridiculous level of fan I am of that band already anyway.

Every single one of their albums (even The Stand-Ins) is definitely in my top 100, so I'm right there with you.
