Radiohead would have made my list if they had a singer whose vocals I enjoyed. Kid A is a great album but it's a frustrating listen because my appreciation for the music always struggles with my dislike of Thom Yorke's singing, and quite often loses.

Clearly you recognize the irony of complaining about Yorke's vocals when you have Joanna Newsom, Marianne Faithfull etc. on the list.

It would be ironic if their voices irritated me as well, but they don't, though I'm aware that they may not be other people's cup of tea. It's not like there's any consistency or logic involved in which voices annoy me and which don't

I attempted to put a ranked list in order, but it didn't work out so well. So, I'm just going to go by artist/bands and then list favorite albums/songs. I don't have my list put together yet, but I get to go to work for the next 8.5 hours, so I'll keep it in mind and post it later tonight. I've really enjoyed everyone else's lists so far!

I'm too lazy to come up with a list, but this FTW

Awesome, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing your blowout of a list. I feel slightly silly for having three Okkervil River albums in my top 25, the most of any artist, but whatever, pretty sure everybody knows the ridiculous level of fan I am of that band already anyway.

I'm shocked that Meadowland by The Wrens has only been listed once (thank you, 1bloodz). Regardless, good listz by everyone. I find it's easy to over-include recent-years albums on lists like these, as they're on your mind. I'm trying to avoid that.

I was pretty surprised by that too, although I expect to see it on yours and Shouter's lists yet. Completely agreed on the over-including recent albums, and it was something I was consciously trying to avoid as well, while still being true to my overall tastes throughout the decade. Because I'm a complete nerd, my spreadsheet has the year of release for each album listed next to it, and after breaking it down, I had a 60/40 split, favoring albums from 2005-2009.

And, where is your list anyway, Scumbo?

I'm beginning work on my list today. A bad hangover prevented work on it yesterday.

I was not ready for Scott Walker last decade.

I still need to hop into that Blueberry Boat, so to speak. It's been on the back burner for way too long now.

I was not ready for Scott Walker last decade.

Good stuff, there's plenty on there I'll have to check out now (including, like Impy, Blueberry Boat, since it's been on my radar for awhile now). I sense a large Okkervil River-shaped gap in there though.
