I'm a fan of the homeless man playing acoustic guitar on the intro. I'm a fan of the dumb beats that perforate the intro. I'm a fan of the synth strings and giant electric guitar chords. The violin brings the ache. But that vocal takes the cake. Good work Sice. Very good work.

So, there are 2 versions of this tune. The overblown recording from 1987, which is awesome, and the restrained, original version from 1982. Restraint serves the song well. Very well.

Travis. They never change. At all. This leads to a complete lack of excitement upon hearing news of an upcoming album.

But the other thing that never changes is they always write great, great songs. That leads to a half hearted listen and the discovery of gems. Gems like "Mother."
